Anonymous Coward User ID: 8570579 United States 11/03/2012 11:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm out in rural Ohio. I've seen one Obama sign. It's all Romney out here.... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23011194 In southern Illinois, I've not seen one Obama or Romney sign. Missouri is full of Romney signs. So what does THAT tell you? Remember Rural Illinois is always very conservative and some affluent Chicago suburbs are too... But does that mean Illinois is going to Romney? Not a chance in heck. Granted, Ohio is more of a Red state normally than Illinois BUT similar dynamic applies. Northen Ohio is kicking Romney's ass so far. Now if Romney had the charm, the political skills & teflon quality of, say, Bill Clinton in his hey-day... if the Republican Party as whole was run by brilliant visionary strategists -- as opposed to Sarah Palin and Grover Norquist.... Then, I think GOP would win the Ohio even despite Obama's amazing Get-Out-the-Vote ground-game and trickery. But Romney is not Clinton. Romney is Romney. A Wall-Street Mormon. Women can't relate. Hispanics can't relate. Auto-workers can't relate. Young people can't relate. Medicaid/Medicare/SS seniors can't relate. I can't wait until next week to call you on all this BS. Moral and sane people realize that it it a GOOD thing that Romney is not like Clinton. Romney has integrity, is a great family man, does not have ONE scandal in his background, is a decent man. All of which certainly doesn't apply to Clinton. You're talking apples in oranges. You're telling me about Mitt Romney's "real-life" persona ----> which has very little bearing on his political skills or on whether or not his party, GOP, still remembers how to win Presidential elections. While I am talking about Bill Clinton, the Master Bullshitter, the Wizard of Triangulation. If Romney had HALF of Blill Clinton's charisma & improvisational chops, he'd Romney would be running away with Ohio, and with it the Presidency. Believe me, I would LOVE to be wrong. I don't think people realize how important it is to defeat Obama not just for capitalist freedom-loving people, but for the NATIONAL PSYCHE as a whole. It is even more important than defeating Jimmy Carter -- remember, it took Raegan 2 full years until the economy started getting on track, but the SYMBOLIC value of Raegan's defeat of Carter's malaise could not be under-estimated. Then Raegan and Bush Sr did something that most people thought was not possible -- he collapse the Evil Empire of Soviet Union, ushering 20 years of unprecedented prosperity in America.... Miracles are possibhle. I just don't see Republicans circa 2012 being hungry or confident enough in their abilities to defeat socialism evil. Hope to be wrong. |

[link to www.nationalreview.com] In addition to Mitt and Ann Romney and Paul and Janna Ryan, the Romney campaign has announced that the following will attend: John McCain and his wife, Cindy; former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice; Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal; Texas Gov. Rick Perry; Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback; Sens. Rob Portman (Ohio), Marco Rubio (Fla.), John Thune (S.D.), Lindsey Graham (S.C.) and Kelly Ayotte (N.H.); former senator Norm Coleman (Minn.); former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani; former Pennsylvania governor Tom Ridge; Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus; Rep. Jason Chaffetz (Utah); former congressman Artur Davis (Ala.); Olympic champion speed skater Derek Parra; Olympic champion figure skater Scott Hamilton; champion golfer Jack Nicklaus; as well as Tagg and Jen Romney, Matt and Laurie Romney, Josh Romney, Ben Romney and Craig and Mary Romney, and BFA Chairman James Irvine. After the first debate, when obama showed his true self, they were nearly in tears, eyes wide, looked as if they were in mourning. And that was only a debate.
