He's having a hard time distinguishing between his current a previous characters.. hence the teleprompters and scripted agendas are beginning to blend & blur together.

He's becoming confused, hesitant & maybe even a little uncomfortable with what's to unfold in the final scene.

Some what similar to what happens with an actor when he reads the revised script & finds out his character is going to be thrown under the proverbial bus..

Or, he simply just didn't get enough sleep last night..
