Guard is slow only a small percentage of Active duty guard members at any time. They have to give the grazing herd and roaring bull alerts and contact everyone draft orders get people paid by the state etc.

I got called for Katrina but didn't go it wasn't mandatory.

Power is being restored to major parts of NY and NJ.

Gasoline is starting to flow.. Ports are reopening...

The coastlines are still in dire straights, whats is left of them anyway... no rescues, only recoveries at this point.

Things will clam down and we won't hear much about this in a few days. The media will move on.

They are still rebuilding after Katrina... and that dropped off the radar after a few weeks too. They will still be rebuilding in NY and NJ after the next natural disaster hits.
