I am sorry to hear that, but I live in the real world, and in my real world his claims are absurd. Weather knowledge is valuable. With that said, I hope all will be good with you and yours soon.

We are well and ready as we can be for any further rounds of this stuff. We prepped to the extent of having a generator and fuel, with electricity we can pump well water and all is good. But the main thing is that we didn't get flooded. Even non-preppers around here are OK if a bit uncomfortable.

What matters more than prepping is not having the storm pick you out for special punishment.

Are you saying that all we have is weather knowledge but we cannot steer storms? Or that we would never do such a thing?

Think of this: why did GWB's storm (Katrina) hit worst the black areas (lowland) of New Orleans, while BO's disasters (Deepwater Horizon, Mississippi and Missouri River flooding, Irene, last year's Halloween snowstorm, now Sandy and the followup storm coming) affected almost entirely white areas?

Do you think it's just a coincidence?

Ok, you win. We have never had hurricanes, river floods and such ever before or any where else in the world.

Of course we have had such storms and things elsewhere. But hm, we haven't had too many hurricanes track around west of NYC, up more or less the Hudson Valley and into VERMONT! That was Irene. Just one example. Very weird and hard to explain by a "global" explanation like "global warming".

Everyone knew it would happen sooner or later, most are amazed that it doesn't happen more often. Storms have been crashing into the gulf coast for all of history, and they have crashed into New England for all history. Luck of the draw this time it was you guys. I am sorry, it is a disaster but purely natural.
