Even if there's no damage to your home... they're not going to allow people to return to certain areas for "months??? So for many, it is EITHER pay these ridiculous prices for room&board for (potentially) MONTHS... or go to a F3MA Prison Camp??? Thread: NY FEMA CAMPS.... RESIDENTS THREATENED TO NOT TALK TO MEDIA.... MEDIA NOT ALLOWED INSIDE GATES..... DEATHS, LOOTING & CHAOS IN NEW YORK... While I'll always defend the innate goodness of humanity, sometimes it is quite hard. ![]() Last Edited by ~Apparitions~ on 11/10/2012 06:07 AM :apparitions-sigg: |

If I've learned anything about people from the city, its that you never consider any charge to outrageous. They're total suckers. They do unto others and it comes full circle back on them. Fair is fair.... LOL |

Just a bunch of entrepreneurs CAPITALIZING on a situation. A true Capitalist is someone who can leave there emotions and soul at the door. You cannot turn a profit if you have to consider the impact your business model will have on the end user. I do not condone these ideas, only speaking my mind. |

| thuntstar83 User ID: 22234648 11/10/2012 08:32 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well let's consider if they charged what we could agree upon as "reasonable" (something the majority could afford). The renter would have a nightmare on their hands because there would be HOARDS of people with the ability to rent; it would be chaos. A thousand people showing up at your door with a hundred bucks pleading GIVE ME. You charge more because there is LESS supply and considerably MORE demand. It's the only way you could sell something in that environment. The renter may profit from the situation; however, the person renting the room is also winning considering they have a place to stay, etc. Does that sound harsh? Yes. But the alternative would be for the masses all fighting over a single room because they have a few nickles to their name. "Oh but that's why the government / an unbiased objective beneficent arbiter of hand outs should be in control." Really? I'd rather roll the dice that I could be the guy with 700 bucks. That seems more reasonable than praying to God the government gives me the hand out. THUNTSTAR83 |

Maybe next time all those people who have to pay the $700, and the people who can't afford it will prepare ahead of time. This is simple supply, and demand. These people do not have to rent their places out to strangers, but they are. |

If I lived in the area and had an apartment, of even an extra room, I would GLADLY help a family out - FREE, esp if they have kids. I have 3 boys and would be devastated if we lost everything. Why can't more people understand that?! It boggles my mind. We don't always choose where we live. One could say the same about people in tornado alley, or Californians in earthquake areas, or people on the flood plains. Some people just grew up there, have jobs there, have family there, inherited a home there, etc. etc. Everybody lives somewhere. |
