The problem with Democracy is that most people vote for what they want, not what they need.

I asked my son yesterday, who would you vote for in school, a kid who promised a longer lunch break or a kid who promised longer tutoring sessions. Without hesitation, he said he would vote for the longer lunch break. As a species, humans are not ready for democracy and what we are witnessing in this country is proving this to be true. Sad is it not?

People are always going to vote for their own self interest. From long ago- " Don't tax you, don't tax me. Tax that man behind the tree".
