To 'bug out' means to disconnect from any external support systems, like Subway(tm) brand meals and their fresh made delicious subs. Instead, bugging out means eating tinned meats if you are lucky. Sterno cans or charcoal might be able to heat it.

Also it means having to find some water, so you'd want to bug out to some place with a natural spring or something, then perhaps negotiate with your countrymen who arrive there, also having wisely 'bugged out', and in this way you can all fill your cans with water from the spring. ...Do you have any natural springs near you? Ask the rural locals.

Also, you'll want to engage with your local black marketeer network to obtain crucial meds like insulin or whatnot. Be sure to buy from several of them, as some % of these black market meds may be bogus.

Ask questions here. But yes, it can be tough to bug out even in theory. I am no expert, and have not done everything needed, but the idea is the same. I am sure you can team up with a network of trusted friends, small enough to support each other. I'd say two or three families at the maximum, who can then encircle their elderly and young ones, would be able to form a group which could result in survival, when SHTF. Also, I would say resist all urges toward cannibalism, as it does serious damage to the soul. Just my tuppence worth. God be with us all.
