Staten Island has been forgotten by the NYC government....they need help!
here is a plea from a resident and a church in the local area that is helping.

i have been doing so much for my fellow folks in brooklyn i am out and tapped.
please they are not looking for money....just supplies.

i do not need a lesson in prepping nor do they now.

they will die.....

I want to get care packages of clothing for all ages, male/female sent to

St. Charles Rectory

People can label these care packages “Oakwood Beach Rescue”

call if you want to check them out.

all day friday my neighborhood did a clothes drive ...we collected blankets and heavy jacket and coats, and any other supplies we could find.
then we drove them right over ourselves to those in need in brooklyn. and the rockaways.

yesterday my son and i walked the 10 block to the supper market, don't need to waste the gas, and did this....

i see a lot of self motivation going on here in brooklyn.
people have all but given up on help from any government folks....
the scouts are doing a food drive....literally..out of the local supermarket.
they are handing out a fliers with things to give them on your way home. and OMG everything on their list is almost free inside the store. 2 and 4 for one sales.
my son and i did a lot of extra shopping today. he is 8 and this meant so much to him to help.
we watched the items we gave get sorted and boxed then the boxes loaded into muddy SUV even with tree branches on them.
as we left so did that SUV with our donated food.....
he said "daddy there goes the our food, some baby will be eating it tonight."
WOW....lets see FEMA beat these folks!
everyday here i am getting my faith back in most humans!

I'm afraid people are going to think everything is under control if word doesn't get out that it is not.
One of the most important aspects of conspiracy theories is being able to discern when there isn't one.

Oh yeah, like you'd understand anyway.

Where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?. . .J. Handy

I know you don't want to hear it but those people dug their own graves. How hard is it to spend a hundred bucks buy water, rice, canned food, and a small gas powered heater? That's right because we need Uncle Sam to hold our hands and give us food stamps, welfare, medicaid, every day.

I feel bad for the people whose circumstances did not allow them to gather supplies or the people who have nothing left, but for the rest of them, they can only blame themselves and should rely on only themselves.

that does not help...

most of the one hardest hit do not use any government help....
they are hardworking folks.

so you would have had them leave their jobs and go where, with their families?

remember everyone was being told to stay put.

even here on GLP there were too many threads saying this would not be anything and all government hype...
well it was not.
it was bad.
and now people need some help.

if nature were to blow your house and preps to hell then flood out what was left.
now what would you do for you and your family?

My heart really goes out to those who need help. I wish I lived closer. This is very upsetting for my family and me to watch. My eight year old daughter doesn't understand why all the "rich" people who live off wall street do not help contribute.
