Miggy I see through you,you are tying to get me to lose my faith.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26950593

I am NOT trying to get you to lose your faith.

What I AM trying to do is ask you to stop making it so hard for ME to go out into the world and offer others the Peace of knowing Christ as our Savior.

Do you know how impossible it is to undo the damage done when people have been judged by Christians who think they have the right to do so?

It's damned near impossible!

If nothing else it's time consuming and I can't help but think I could bring a few more to salvation if I didn't have to spend so much time convincing them that we're not all so mean-spirited... that God LOVES them as much as He loves you or me.

Please tell me that every day when I'm out there doing my best to show the joys of knowing our Lord that YOU'RE not out there trying to put the fear of God into them!

You're NOT going to scare people into believing. It's never happened that way and it never will.

I don't even know why I brought this up. I should have known it was an impossible endeavor on my part.

Sigh.

Leviticus. The book of Laws.

Do you know that before Christ entered the picture there were 285 laws that people were to practice AND 365 laws that people were NOT to practice before they were thought worthy to enter into Heaven?

Man was given 10. By Moses.

Christ had to finally come down here and tell people to knock it off.

And in my opinion his most important was:

DO NOT JUDGE OTHERS!!!!

Sorry, but this infuriates me today.

rant
 Quoting: Miggy

And? Sigh. The old testament and the new are interwoven.

3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye. Matthew 7:3-5

The Torah is eternal. If people are not obedient to it, they will not enter the Kingdom of God.

And Moses was given far more than 10 Commands, he received all of the Torah from God. The 10 were just while the Israelites were in the wilderness.

I really think you need to study these verses.

Matthew 5:17-19

King James Version (KJV)

17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 7:21-23

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

If someone is doing something that is clearly wrong it is not "judging" them to simply voice the plain truth of the matter. Otherwise you would never be able to simply read the Bible out loud in front of anyone you thought might not agree.

There are such things as right and wrong and I will not be silent about it.

If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787

I read something once and it really resonated with me:

"Lighthouses dont go running all over the island looking for boats to save, they just stand there...shining".

I feel a deep need to turn inward and be still. I pray always for strong powers of discernment and for divine guidance.

As I learn to know and love myself, I feel the love for everything else growing, everyday.

grizzy Judging others and warning people about hell are two different things that are often confused. People must be warned even at the risk of offending them.

HI THERE!... [link to www.chick.com]

Eze 3:18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked [man] shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.

Eze 3:19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

Well, I'm sorry to disappoint you but I believe I'll be up there, standing right next to you.

And if not, well...

You DO know that we're taught that we have a duty when we minister to others and that should we sabotage a precious opportunity when it presents itself that God isn't going to be too happy with us, don't you?

So I guess the question is, how many opportunities have you squandered?

More importantly, how many have I missed out on because people were hesitant to give Christianity a second chance after having a disturbing encounter with a Christian the first time around?

I KNOW the answer to this second question because I encounter it daily.

Did you even watch this video clip?

Those people are ACTUAL people in my church. They FINALLY found Grace after other so-called Christians told them they weren't good enough for our Lord.

Take the first woman, for example. She's no longer a prostitute. She LOVES our Lord and is quite magnificently, changed- for lack of a better word.

Do you know how many times she wanted to change her life?

Her story is heartbreaking. Her desire to know God spans over YEARS but she kept encountering condescending, judgmental Christians.

Thank GOD she stumbled onto our church and people who welcomed her with loving arms instead of hateful criticism. As a result she is now a baptized believer of Jesus Christ.

There's a reason Christ hung out with low-life's, you know.

Or do you think he was also wrong to keep company with sinners?

Personally, I would say that "the line" as you put it is the difference between speaking the truth about something and acting as if I am in a possition of authority to sentence someone for their actions. Only God is the final Judge.

A couple of hot topic examples would be people who are and or advocate homosexuality or who advocate or have had abortions. Unnatural sexual relations are plainly wrong. Abortion is murder and murder is wrong. My telling someone that is not an example of judging them, but of simple voicing the truth. Judging them would be acting on that assesment as if they are unredeemable and I were righteous enough to sentence them some form of pennance.
