In order for your friend to have a reflection THAT large in the lens of the Chem-cam, he would have to be close enough that it would'nt be possible to fit the whole Rover in the frame. Is everyone really that stupid? [link to i924.photobucket.com] |

He's been off the site for months now and like I said, he doesn't work for NASA. They used a bunch of different contractors for the job. He said the whole site had like 40 to 50 people at a time buzzing around, a lot of trailers, canopies, refreshments, a food truck. He said it was hot as hell. Lots engineers, some people from the movie industry. But he said the whole thing seemed a little sloppy. He did sign a non-disclosure agreement, but he doesn't care and wants the truth out. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10813603 Is everyone really that stupid? [link to i924.photobucket.com] Um, dude ok, you think they just had one model of the thing? He said the had like three or four models of it of different sizes, so who knows, maybe it was a smaller model. I don't even know if your theory is correct, to me, it looks like he's standing a few feet from it. Just out of the bottom of the image and the corners you would see people standing around and other equipment, they placed everything so none of that showed up (but like he told me, they released a few photos that show a bunch of crap and sloppy mistakes). It was not your friend. He would have to be standing on his head to take the damn picture anyhow. Jesus use some fucking common sense. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10813603 Also, if NASA applies a filter to make everything look brown, why is the top of Curiosity bright white still? |

So far he's had no heat and he's been telling me what's been going on for months over the phone and by email, so they are either tracking that stuff and don't care, or they're not paying attention at all. I get the feeling when proof like this comes out, NASA just doesn't care. They don't think the public is paying attention at all. Last Edited by Super Bowl Dave on 11/04/2012 01:06 PM |

User ID: 14634326 11/04/2012 01:09 PM ![]() Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well, first of all, there is no camera that could take that photo on the surface of Mars. There would have to be an astronaut in a spacesuit standing NEXT to the rover to physically TAKE that photo, as you can see the photo was taken a FEW FEET AWAY from the rover. Look, NASA releases this bs and doesn't expect anyone to question it. This is a prime example. "OOooo, cool, a photo of the whole rover on Mars." Nobody asks how the hell that photo got taken. Critical thinking skills are DEAD in this country. |

It would be a big job to do it that neatly, but the article says the image is just slapped together, that's why they supposedly didn't even remove the image of "our friend" from the camera lens. Removing that image would be much easier. |

Removing that image would be much easier. Like said, it's slap-shod. They do some post work, they apply filters and such, and other things they let go. He told me out of the thousands of photos released so far that he and others helped take, a bunch of them have "easter eggs", some intentional, some not. One of his favorites is one that had somebody's shoe in it. I'll have to get him to send it to me and I'll post it. |

Critical thinking skills are DEAD in this country. 1) Everybody asked how it was taken. There have been numerous threads about it. 2) It is not a single picture. It's a composite of around 55 separate images. 3) It wouldn't be hard for them to figure out your friend. He wasn't just some random guy working on the site, he was the photographer. 4) If he was standing so close and his own face is in shadow (meaning there is a light source behind him), shouldn't we see his shadow in the photo? Look at the other shadows. |

His shadow and the shadow of the canopy is right off screen, probably if you tipped the camera down a few degrees it would show up on the bottom of the photo. |

There is no man reflected in the lens, that is the way the lens looks. Lost a bit of respect for you to see you try to play a game like this. :( I am not a shill, I just don't always agree. They re-released it. It's obviously doctored. Looks like a photoshop job, almost looks like CGI or something, what they did with the lens. Too much heat, too many questions. You really believe that shit? Wow. Ok. |
