INSIDER PHOTO PROOF: NASA's Curiosity "self portrait" EXPOSED as a FAKE! | |
| green_girl User ID: 23919169 11/04/2012 04:14 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I really don't think some people understand the question. Quoting: Keep2theCode So there's a camera attached to the rover, up on some arm and facing the rover, taking a bunch of little photos that NASA pieced together to make one image. Regardless of whether that arm is straight under the camera or off to the side, there should be SOMETHING sticking out from the rover that goes out of the visible frame to where the camera is. A drawing would help, but here's the best I can do with keyboard: .......... ____ ........ /.....O <-- camera _____/ ||||||| ||||||| <-- rover |____| No matter where that camera arm goes, it's attached to the rover SOMEWHERE. Yet there is NOTHING in the photo, composite or not, that extends out from the rover to where the camera is. So all you Einsteins, throwing insults because you don't get the question: WHERE IS THE CAMERA ARM? sigh. The arm MOVES. In some pics it was in one spot, in other pics it was in another spot. After 55 pics, there was enough images that the entire rover could be reconstructed without the arm holding the other camera visible. It isnt rocket science, nor is it unfathomable. As for people complaining that the pictures do not look stitched, it is very very easy when taking pics close together and lots of them (like 55 pics) to make a mosaic with no stitches. There would have been more than enough data for it to happen. Harder to do if you are trying to do a mosaic of a very large surface, but a small pic like this? Easy. I have seen artists make some really awesom stitched pics and you cannot see the seams. The OP here is just playing a prank, and loving all the responses he is getting. Probably wanking the whole time. This thread needs to be ignored now. I am a thread killer, and I am using my power to kill this thread!!! I am not a shill, I just don't always agree. Sometimes they AREN'T out to get us. |

Very nice post. Perfect example off image manipulation by governments. It is manipulation but it's a very simple technique, all you need to do is take one shot, rotate the arm to a different position while holding the camera in the same spot then take a 2nd shot, combine the two you get rid of the arm. GLP is indeed full of conspiracy tards that would freak out on anything they don't know, and they really don't know much. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() But how does a camera take a picture of itself at all? how exactly is this not clear to you? grab your phone strech your arm and take a picture, now put the phone in your other hand, strech, edit. NASA says so as well: [link to mars.jpl.nasa.gov] Well, in any event, it does prove one thing FOR SURE - NASA is proficient with Photoshop and image editing, without a doubt! There MUST be something attached to the rover that the camera will show going away from the rover and out of the field of view. It doesn't matter how much the camera moves; It doesn't matter how many pieces the picture is made from, whether 1 or a thousand. The fact remains that there is NOTHING seen going out from the rover and out of the field of view, as must be the case when you can see the whole rover. ONE of those sub-pictures must show the camera mount/arm, even if that shot was taken by a different camera. And if NASA edited out that shot, they need to say so. That's all I'm asking this whole time: did NASA say they 'shopped the photo or not, beyond just "stitching" pieces together? Those who know all the answers haven't heard all the questions. |

Given that the arm is always behind the camera itself, it will never been seen in its own photo's unless it is photo'd by another camera in another location. Also, why no audio(so we're told) on any of the rovers? Giant tubes on the surface not interesting enough, but in comparison, a mountain is? Maybe they already know all about these tubes? which means to suggest they have much more data on the planet that the rest of this planet isn't privy to. |

But my question is how there can be any photo that doesn't show at least the base of the arm when extended, no matter how many times the MAHLI moved on its multi-jointed arm.
