Should Doctor Assisted Suicide be offered to prisoners facing long term incarcerations who want to end it?

Oregon is the only state with Doctor Assisted Suicide. Bush tried to kill it but it was just upheld by the Supreme Court. Now California is next. Arnold is going to give it to the voters to see if they want it in the next elections.

There is a prisoner here serving a life sentence who wants to end his life because he feels he is suffering with no hope of ever having a normal life. He was turned down, but his question is interesting. There has been some discussion locally about whether he should have the option. Some think it will save the state money, others say he should stay and suffer but give him some Prozak...lol

I think I would think hard about putting a gun in my mouth if I was facing 20-life hard-time. He might have a point.
