He meant that He was the prophesied Messiah and the Great I Am. The prophesied Messiah and the Great I am are the same. I am (He) was added later... The I AM that is throughout Scripture definitive of the Creator God. the great I AM EXODUS 3:14, JOHN 8:58, JOHN 18:5,6, MARK 14:62 You are correct, Jesus was telling them, "unless you believe that I am the prophesied Messiah, unless you believe that I AM (He), (the great I AM) you will die in your sins. No he didn't mean the Great I am for that is God's title and they are not the same. Messiah means anointed one, has nothing to do with being God. "I am (He) was added later... The I AM that is throughout Scripture definitive of the Creator God. the great I AM" The original language? What, Greek? They were translated from the Greek just fine. I do not accept that. The original language that Jesus spoke was said that unless you believe that I Am, you will die in your sins.Jesus proclaimed Himself as the I AM before the religious leaders, and they fell forward on their faces. They hated Him for proclaiming Himself the I AM. Do you have any evidence of that? And he did not proclaim himself the I am, he said before Abraham, I am. Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. John 8:58 Meaning that he existed before Abraham at the right hand of the Father.
