... What translation are you using? I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. John 8:24 King James Version That I am He, ie, the Prophesied Messiah!!! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26991397 Yes, you are right, that that "I am He"....King James, and most other translations, and that is all right... He meant that He was the prophesied Messiah and the Great I Am. The prophesied Messiah and the Great I am are the same. I am (He) was added later... In the original language, Jesus said "Unless you believe that I AM, you will die in your sins." The I AM that is throughout Scripture definitive of the Creator God. the great I AM EXODUS 3:14, JOHN 8:58, JOHN 18:5,6, MARK 14:62 You are correct, Jesus was telling them, "unless you believe that I am the prophesied Messiah, unless you believe that I AM (He), (the great I AM) you will die in your sins. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26994007 No he didn't mean the Great I am for that is God's title and they are not the same. Messiah means anointed one, has nothing to do with being God. "I am (He) was added later... In the original language, Jesus said "Unless you believe that I AM, you will die in your sins." The I AM that is throughout Scripture definitive of the Creator God. the great I AM" The original language? What, Greek? They were translated from the Greek just fine. I do not accept that. It says He, not I am. Here is a list of all the other translations. [ link to bible.cc] Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27004651 That is the POINT: they are TRANSLATIONS. The original language that Jesus spoke was said that unless you believe that I Am, you will die in your sins.Jesus proclaimed Himself as the I AM before the religious leaders, and they fell forward on their faces. They hated Him for proclaiming Himself the I AM. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26994007 Do you have any evidence of that? And he did not proclaim himself the I am, he said before Abraham, I am. Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. John 8:58 Meaning that he existed before Abraham at the right hand of the Father.
