no there is barely any damage like 4 house washed away at the very south end of the island and like 2 more on the north side other then that it just flooded

im from long beach island nj i stayed for the storm and left a couple days after.... there was barely any damage there just in 2 seperate parts of the island and everything is fine now there is no dangerous conditions


they are saying they wont be letting people return to there homes for 2 months

what the mother fuck i live and work there i only have 300 dollars and there is NO FUCKING AID AVAILABLE TO ME i have applied with fema and a sba loan and they just say wait for us to contact you

the only aid is to go stay at a shelter well fuck that femas budget is how many hundreds of billions?? red cross gets how many billions donated to it?? and the best they have for me is to go stay on a used cot thats been cleaned since the last person used it?

thats wonderful your stopping me from going to my house... stopping me from working and have no financial aid for me?? just a used fucking cot???

and btw fema and red cross aint doing fucking shit for recovery its all people that live around here DOING EVERY FUCKING THING

I used to give blood every three months or so, and donated money to them (believing their slick baloney brochures which they'd send out during their drives for donations). That is, until a friend was in the hospital and I saw what he was charged for those pints of blood, for which all I received was a cookie and a glass of orange juice.

Then came Katrina and Haiti, and all the millions in donations from warm-hearted Americans which never seemed to arrive to help the people who were desperate.......and later they just couldn't seem to figure out where all the money went...it just sort of disappeared...like my support of Red Cross.

ok if anyone can explain how the gas and water infrastructure would have gotten damaged from flooding ide like to know?? especially when its all under the water table anyway aka its under water in the ground already.... did the island sway back and forth and i didnt feel it?? was there an earthquake i didnt feel?

the only damage that could have happened to gas was at the connection to the house where the pipe comes out of the ground and goes into the house something could have floated into it and broke it but its very unlikely and all that would need to be done is go house to house find any broken ones and cap them....

they have been saying the gas lines need to be replaced within the next couple years for 4 to 6 years now and i think the gas company is just simply trying to get government to foot the bill


and yes further north there was damage to gas lines cuz houses floated away .... not to the damn infrastructure

I watch this comedienne on YouTube, she lives in the area. This is her newest vid stating at the end that the situation persists as of today.

By the end of the vid the tone totally changes and it's pretty easy to tell she's not pippy about it anymore.

As for FEMA, people who were dealing with them after Katrina still had problems and no resolution 5-6 years later.
