I have been talking to my wife about the east coast event, now she has become interested in doing a little prepping.

We figure minimum 3 months of food and plenty of drinking water is a good start.
Fuel and generator we already have and used it last night during an outage we had due to storms.

That should give me some time before I start whining about our miserable condition when conditions are worst.

Listen, I have a generator, but gas is priced out of sight. IF we had to use ours, we could only use it a couple of hours a day.

If shtf, we won't be able to depend on the generator for more than a few days. there won't be any more gas, no way to get more (beyond what you can store at home, and I find that dangerous).

Besides, once "authorites" come around, I suspect there would be laws against using generators, as I suspect the whole idea is to bring all citizens into submission.

I always figured a "whole home generator" working off natural gas, was a better option, but even that is temporary.

I guess what I am asking is, aren't we ultimately fucked anyway? WOn't "they" just 'wait us out' till we are all brought to our knees, no matter HOW prepped we start off being?

to be convicted of trespassing, the owner of the property must show in court with the offical deed in their name and in their hand to even say you were trespassing...you have a right to face your accuser in a court of law when representing yourself...good luck with finding someone to claim they own federal land and face you in court with the deed proving you were trespassing on their federal land...make sure you ask for a jury trail on federal land with so called trespassing charges so you can walk out free...its double jeopardy if they want to try to convict you with the same crime again.....dont think i wont challenge the laws that we the people created...

It's never too late to do nothing at all.

I am sick to death of hearing THEY are not telling people the truth about whats going on in the world. I have watched at least 12 to 16 programs since spring about whats coming our way in terms of Earth Changes and all the bad weather.

History and National Geographic and Science and many others have been warning us all if you just care to watch somthing other than a soap opera or football game .

Some of these programs painted a pretty grim picture about things.

Said the world is in for it. Poles migrateing. Faults snapping in half( April ) Earthquake Swarms are precursors for a planetary shakeup huge. Rising sea levels and it oes on and on.

So tell me again that this info is being witheld from everybody...?

If by wood in the streets you mean the trees that recently came down, that's greenwood. No good for heat, good for very smoky fires only (cough .. cough). Cut wood needs to season (dry out) for about a year before it's useful for firewood.

Ditto here. $5 a week 10 years ago. Been stocking and rotating ever since. Once the "Best By" is a year in the past we slow down. I've got enough food to last me a very long time. With a bit of rationing, I'd be good for at least 2 years.

50% of the population is rural. I'd estimate that of the 100 million gun owners in the USA, 90% of them don't live in town. Not only do they not like being told what to do, they've got guns.

Hurricane Sandy can kiss my ass. I've done blizzards, storms, tornados, floods, etc. I've got a years worth of food I've built up over 5 years, below ground. I've got 100+ gal of gas for the generator. Heck, Sandy would just be a blip for me. A vacation. Now, I do understand people have damage, and thats a problem, but all the whiney left coasters are just babies. Whining about gas shortages and food shortages. You had a week to prepare! Damn! What the hell is wrong with you people?

For all our technical advances, most of you people are undeserving. You think I spent $30,000 on 30 acres of land because I just wanted to blow 30 grand? Get a clue. Get a life. Grow a pair. If you spent less on eating out and bought a few extra can's of gas AND drove like you had a brain instead of a death wish, maybe you'd have less problems with the "gas shortage".
