"When Are We Going to Get Some Fucking Food, Fuck You"--Bloomberg Visits Rockaway | |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 1222180 11/04/2012 11:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Everyone, everywhere should have a couple weeks of food put away for emergencies. That way people don't have to run to the store when a hurricane is forecasted. Then they will have food to share with others after the disaster hit. Quoting: samanthasunflower Wouldn't it be nice to have a tray of food to take to your elderly neighbor after a bad storm? Rather then complaining about the idiot politician. We get the politicians that we deserve. They voted in that idiot, because he promised them everything. They refused to voted in people who spoke to them as adults and asked them to act responsibly. Maybe now they will vote for better people. But I highly doubt it. The idiots in New Orleans voted back in the same people who messed that area up. The idiots in New York will probably do the same. New Yorkers hate Republican millionaires like Romney, but they vote in a Thurston Howell-type BILLIONAIRE named Bloomberg, because he's a Democrat . |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26357200 I understand if your home got wiped out - then prepping wouldn't work - but what about the others? Many people are just freaking broke these days and it is enough they are able to put food on the table each day let alone have two weeks stored up. My guess is that every person who uses that excuse has a cell phone or a smart phone. Those things can cost thousands of dollars a year. A week's worth of food might cost $150 for a family of six. No It's not filet mignon, but it will feed you. |

I agree with some of the posts above... not even a week and people have NO food? Sheesh. They certainly couldn't live in my area since winter storms can cause week long problems EASILY. They also did NOT pay any attention to the news either (or felt they "KNEW" better than the weather forecasters) Sorry, but except for those who houses were actually destroyed or got water into them MORE than a couple of feet higher than the floorboards of the first floor, I just can NOT sympathize with their "YOU OWE ME" attitude. THEY CHOSE to live in a hurricane potential area ... and now they are pissed at the government because, OMG, a hurricane actually hit? (and caused the damage that would be expected). Cry me a river ... NOT Agree, and I live in the NYC suburbs (not LI, we got wind but not flooded.) But out here in the 'burbs and land of single family houses, there's a bit more self-sufficiency. |

Collect your content insurance and move on. People don't realize the amount of labor required to rebuild. Less and less people entering the work force are TRADE TRAINED. These kids go to school and take Massage therapy and Accounting and Bookeeping and Social Working. They don't like the hard labor jobs and won't train for them. Most of the ones trained and have a trade are starting to get to retirement age. You watch what happens coming up. There is going to be nobody around to fix stuff. There is a shortgage already. Just these rip off artist types that are JACK OF ALL TRADE TYPES and everybody forced to use them gets burned. How many of these people are starting to even clear out their homes and dry them out. Boozoo the Mayor better hope HIS HOUSE never catches fire ever.
