Why no air drops? Why are they not dropping food and water in the neighborhoods and on the beaches? Where is the US Army? All hands on deck!

The US Air Force loaded up globemaster and galaxy cargo jets from Cali and brought in 90 utility crews. You can't airdrop food and water in the neighborhoods. It's going to go right through someones roof. There are a lot of volunteers (me being one of them) that are bringing in supplies. The issue is manpower to distribute them.

Fricking New Yorkers have a huge ENTITLEMENT MINDSET!!

Sheesh ... hate to say it but they all have this "YOU OWE ME", "YOU OWE ME", "YOU OWE ME" mindset when they don't get their way or something very FORESEEABLE happens that THEY did not WANT to happen.

I agree with some of the posts above... not even a week and people have NO food?

Sheesh. They certainly couldn't live in my area since winter storms can cause week long problems EASILY. They also did NOT pay any attention to the news either (or felt they "KNEW" better than the weather forecasters)

Sorry, but except for those who houses were actually destroyed or got water into them MORE than a couple of feet higher than the floorboards of the first floor, I just can NOT sympathize with their "YOU OWE ME" attitude.

THEY CHOSE to live in a hurricane potential area ... and now they are pissed at the government because, OMG, a hurricane actually hit? (and caused the damage that would be expected).

Cry me a river ... NOT

while I, as well, am anti the "you owe me attitude", and many NY'ers do have that, these people "didn't choose to live in a hurricane prone area." Storms like these are rare and happen once every 40 years. The reason people are pissed is because these agencies such as FEMA, *actually exist* and are costing taxpayers millions. Since they exist, they should be deployed and helping in full force. It's not that we are pissed at the government. Imagine paying for some type of services and then just not getting them. Everyone pays for FEMA via taxes. We want to see our money being used.
