As a man, I quit being the aggressor in my marriage, when it comes to sex. You want brutal honesty? There are only a few reasons why a man won't go after the receptacle that's easy access. In no particular order;

1. As we get older, there are small things that make sex less spontaneous. Maybe it takes him a little longer for him to get it up, or stay up. Maybe you need a little help in the lubrication department. These things are easily dealt with BUT, even the most minor speedbump in the bedroom can be damaging if the man views sex as a source of frustration or criticism or as something that requires 'effort'. We men love blowing a load; if he's not interested, chances are you've said or done something to damage the sexual relationship - probably without even meaning to.

2. Men are more emotional creatures than you women realize. If we are hurt, frustrated, angry, or just maybe feel unappreciated this affects us in many ways including our desire to be close to you. If we don't want to around you, for whatever reason, chances are we don't wanna stick our dick in you either.

3. Stress is everywhere. Work, hell even leisure can be stressful. Stress can hurt sexual performance.

Look, I'm not trying to lay blame but when a man doesn't want to bone his wife it is almost ALWAYS because of something she has or hasn't done, or at least he THINKS this is the case.

If you are disrespectful, rude, agitating, condescending, mean, snide, callous, cruel, entitled, or otherwise ANYTHING opposite to what YOU want to come home to - well, I wouldn't wanna fuck you either.

How old is your husband? Is he depressed?

He could have low testosterone (especially if he's on narcotic medication), and he could have diabetes or another medical condition which would affect his "abilities" and sex drive.

Have you noticed a radical change in his attitude toward being romantic with you, or has this been an ongoing thing?

Basically, when did he start to lose interest? It's not normal, and if he's having "difficulty down there", he should see a physician for a good work-up.

He could be feeling inadequate if he's got erectile dysfunction, or he could be clinically depressed, but best to start with the physical side because that can cause depressive symptoms.

Have his thyroid, B-12, complete blood count, testosterone, and other levels checked by his doctor.

If nothing's wrong physically, then if he's not (god forbid) cheating, then maybe it's a simple matter of you being a bit more highly charged than your husband.

They say a man's sexual peak is around age 18, but a woman's is around age 35.

Maybe he's stressed-out, or keeping a secret and ashamed of himself (money-related? Who knows?)

Basically, rule-out the physical then talk to him honestly if there seems to be something bothering him.

Do you initiate love-making, or does he? Maybe a little role-playing or change-up of who plays the role of the assertive one would keep things "charged-up" under the covers!

If nothing else, meet him at the door in a teddy and two glasses of wine (if you don't have kids at home!) and I doubt that any man would be able to resist that kind of "hint"!

First off, just to get this out of the way, the idea of men being this constant sex craved animal whose sole purpose in life is to get laid is wrong. Completely wrong. Hi OP - sorry didn't read thru all ten pages but most common problem - besides stress and exhaustion - is low testosterone count. Easily remedied if he goes to get bloodwork to confirm.

And not sure how old you are but women's sex drive surges around 40's. But sounds like he should get a check up. :)
