This is how the electoral college represents the popular vote.


in the 1980 election the democrats got 40.98% of the popular vote but only got 9% of the electoral votes.

or 1984 when dems got 40.56% of the popular vote but got only 2.4% of the electoral votes.

Or like when 1988 when dems got 45.65% of the popular vote but got 20% of the electoral votes.

So i had my doubts up to this point but then the next two elections proved all.


in 1992 when Ross Perot got 18.9% of the popular vote but a whopping 0 electoral votes

Or in the 2000 election when Al Gore won the popular vote but lost the election.
