Hang in there, tomorrow is a new day. If you aren't taking meds to help regulate the disease have you thought about talking to a professional to build a support group for the times like this?

Re: I am truly alone- bipolar
Don't feel alone. U are just going through a really rough time, but this, too, shall pass.

Hang in there. If u fall down, get back up. It is ok to fall down and rest for awhile, but always get back up and try try again.

I think alot of us are going through the dark night of the soul. It is scary, especially if u are alone or feel alone.

There are free counseling groups. Many people are in the same boat with u.

Re: I am truly alone- bipolar
OP, many people are diagnosed with bi-polar when they are, in fact, borderline.

Does this video ring true? I hope so because it's much easier to cure without medicaine.

Hang in there, friend.

Re: I am truly alone- bipolar
Dont feel alone. Just know that the best family members are not necessarily those we are related too!! There is an online test to see if you truly have bi- polar disorder or adult ADHD. The two are very similar
And to every bi-polar component there is an ADHD component and vise versa. However one will always be stronger than the other. You can search online for" Bi Polar test." It is a very short survey, at the end it will tell you how you scored... print it out and take it with you when you are able to see a psychiatrist... STAY AWAY FROM FAMILY PHYSICIANS...THEY CAN ONLY PRESCRIBE MEDS THAT WILL EXACERBATE THE PROBLEM!!! They are not allowed to prescribe rx's for Bi-polar. Your county should have a local mental health clinic, that you can get into...but you may be able to get on medicaid ins. Via your local jobs and family services .Talk to them and let them know you desperately need MEDICATION for the bi polar. If you use these exact terms they should be able to give you some assistance.
Best of Luck and you are doing the right thing reaching out for help. hf

Do a search on n-acetylcysteine and bipolar.
Sounds promising, and you can buy NAC online very reasonably to try.

Re: I am truly alone- bipolar
Trust me you are never truly alone and no one is a loser. I'm trying to become one in a sense. I'm looking for the switch, so I can 180 my emotions easier. As they are just thoughts/emotions, that lead to a perception and perceptions can be changed.

You're young, in time you'll gain more control or if you want you can completely control your emotions. With your mood swings you'll have an advantage over others because of the roller coaster ride, resulting in more practice.

I go over some of it my thread, it takes time. And don't believe that BS that meds are the only way to control your emotions, that's just the BS they tell you too keep you buying there crap and to gain more control. Granted they can make it easier and in some cases are necessary, not nearly as often as prescribed. When I was younger I had several attempts on my own life and years of depression. I rarely feel anything I don't want anymore and feel nearly anything I want with a thought. It simply takes practice and time like everything worth while. It really does get easier if you put the effort in.

OP,

Sorry to hear about everything!! I've got a father who deals with bipolar and it looks like my 4 year old son may have a very bad case of it as well. I'm scared as hell having a little boy that may be diagnosed with it. Any recommendations on how I could cope with a little one like this?

Re: I am truly alone- bipolar
Good luck to you, may things work out for you, I get how you feel.

My mental illness list is too long to go into, but sadly (yes this is negative) the good positive feeling times only occur to trick you. You feel negative/bad all the time you eventually learn to cope/adapt and continue on. The good feelings just last long enough for me to drag me out of my negative moods, before just "disappearing" and chucking me back into the deep end of the shit. You get shown how things could be just so it can reset your measurement of despair. If you get what I mean.

Thank you, I had symtoms beginning in adolescense. I felt different always though. I understand it runs in families and my kids are 19 and 22 and seem to not have it.my son is ADHD though and he is getting better he feels I chose NOT medicate him and it was a fight with the schools he ended up in alternative school. I'm sorry your 4 yr old seems to be showing signs it must be frightenimg for you. I am not sure what can be done for one that young. I commend you for being attuned to his needs and i'm sure it will help him as he gets older to have a mom like you. "hugs"

You're not a loser im the exact same. Everything you posted applies the same to me.
What you perceive to be is your reality.

I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.

You're never alone. God loves you so much you just need to realize it. You are his and he wants to have a relationship with you. Please, have hope. Jesus Christ has already won this battle for us.

Re: I am truly alone- bipolar
Get a new perspective on your situation and turn that frown upside down. : )

As our solar system has been moving into a dense interstellar plasma cloud, the plasma cloud is interacting with the 'electrical circuitry' of our solar system. Could this approach be the real cause in the stark rise in percentage of mental illness cases reported over the last 50 years, due to the ever increasing electrical fluctuations on the brain?

"The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services uses "patient care episodes" to estimate the number of people treated each year for mental illness . This metric tracks the number of people treated at psychiatric hospitals, residential facilities for the mentally ill, and ambulatory care facilities . In 1955, the government reported 1,675,352 patient care episodes, or 1,028 episodes per 100,000 population . In 2000, patient-care episodes totaled 10,741,243, or 3,806 per 100,000 population . That is nearly a fourfold per capita increase in 50 years (Table 1)."

Here is a tour of the consciousness levels of Spiral Dynamics, based on the theory of adult human developement by Dr. Clare W. Graves. Also discussed are 'spiritual emergencies' vs. bi-polar disorder.

always try to keep in mind just how good you fuckin got it.... there's billions of people right now aching from weeks of hunger, children screaming from the pain of starvation, people shivering from no shelter wearing rags, people who don't literally have a pot to piss in... try helping those who are WAY worse off than you, and there are MANY... it will give you a new perspective...
