Wow that is awkward. If you divide 2.5m deaths/annum (2009 data) by 50 to give average deaths per state you get ~49k... That's per year. This will probably be different to the actual number of deaths in Louisiana, due to there being a smaller population in comparison to the figure averages would of been taken from (being approx 6.2m per state if divided the population/50)

Very anomalous... 200k death cert's would probably last for 2 years... Unless they have just ran out of them... Would there be the possibility of you seeing how many have been purchased in the last 2 or 3 years?

It began last year and ends next year - that's 100,000 deaths per year for an entire state - doesn't sound too far fetched to me...

According to page 3-1 of the 2008 Vital Statistics Report for the state:

In 2008, there were 40,741 deaths in Louisiana

If they expect that to double, then they will be well stocked, I suppose. Maybe the Corexit is working its way in, maybe they expect a disaster, who knows? Maybe someone just wants to stock-up?

Well, about 40,000 people die per year in Louisiana on average. If the death certs are for 2011 to 2013, that means they are expecting about 66,666 deaths per year on average (interesting number by the way).

whoa there fella, far too much logic.

Op; the state has bought in a few years supply, maybe got a good deal on bulk printing/purchase.

Still the very idea of the sinkhole going boom and wiping everyone out within a few hundred miles is far too nice.

Re: 200,000 Death Certs. Ordered in Louisiana...Hmmm
A person's heirs need to provide an official death certificate to collect various benefits, life insurance policies, close bank accounts, etc. So if around 50,000 people die in LA per year, ordering 200,000 death certificates every year or two isn't as crazy as it might seem.

Which isn't to say there's nothing sinister going on down there, because I believe there probably is...but this isn't an indicator of it, imo. Now if they'd ordered a million, that would be a concern.

Re: 200,000 Death Certs. Ordered in Louisiana...Hmmm
Don't like over 150,00 people die a day? How is 200,000 Death Certificates anything to bug out about.

It is interesting to order that many in one sitting though...but still a ton of people die. Is there any stats that say how many die per the rate a year in a given state? I know it must of gone down from many years ago to now...but still I would be worried at 1,000,000 Death Certificates ordered in one sitting.

Good Catch OP.

The company that makes the paper is called Pacific Banknote. They make paper for Stocks, Bonds, birth and death cetificates, etc.

Death certificate paper is just one of many kinds of paper they make and can be used for any number of documents.

It is just a company name for a type of BLANK paperstock they sell.

I had a dream before this sinkhole happened that I was sitting in an hotel room watching the news, the anchor on there was literally crying she was in shock, she said there were over a 100,000 dead in Tennessee she did not say what it was that killed these people but it seemed like it was instant.

I didn't see that it was from mid-year 2011 to mid-year 2013. That means that they are expecting about 100,000 deaths per year which is 150% greater than average.
