Sex with the same person eventually loses it's appeal. For some it takes months, for some, years. Then the marriage breaks down, or you carry on living a lie - like they used to in the 1950,s.

When I got married, it was mostly because I wanted a lifetime commitment to the girl since we were basically partners in crime and down for each other. It lasted about six months till she found out my best friend also wanted her. Now I wouldn't get married again unless the woman asked and gave me a dowry and guaranteed money and benefits.

Fear of being alone?
Fear of her not being happy?
Fear of not fitting in?
Fear of missing a regular shag?

I disagree. It sounds like a romantic cliche, but it's true that there's more to love and marriage than sex. Believe me, I'm the least romantic person there is and I still believe in that.

When, like me, you've been living with someone for decades and the relationship is fundamentally based on something else than physical attraction, you appreciate the intellectual and emotional companionship more and more. Naturally it requires that there is a connection on intellectual and emotional level, but I've been lucky in that sense.

Me and my wife still have sex occasionally, but even if it would end completely, I wouldn't even dream of wanting to leave my wife or cheat on her. Some years ago we had almost a year long period without sex (obgyn surgery + complications) and it was perfectly OK. Maybe I have a low sex-drive, but I've always found it strange when married men complain about the lack of sex. I mean there's plenty of porn available and it's easy to relieve yourself if you're feeling horny. You don't need a wife, mistress or a prostitute for that.

Because they are idiots & brainwashed into thinking the last few thousand years of culture have any bearing whatsoever on reality...

I was 32. I was dating a really beautiful girl. She was awesome in every way except that she was hooked on money. Man that sucked. And she had guy friends which made her seem stupid since those guys were just trying to sleep with her. At that point I was making about $140k a year. She was obsessed with that money and it made me sick. And she wasn't aware enough about men to see that all the dudes who wanted her weren't 'friends'. So I had to dump her. Can't waste time trying to fix someone. They can only fix themselves. I was devastated. So was she. She lost like 15 pounds in the two weeks I dumped her. And she was already thin. A few weeks later she came to see me and proposed to me. I've had girls pressure me into marriage before but never a flat out proposal. This girl looked like a carbon clone of Giada except she was blond.

After that horrible breakup I started having visions of my future. I knew time was growing short. When I considered the future mother of my kids there was only one choice. By this point that girl was living 2000 miles away. I called her and said I am ready. She said okay. It was that sime. I flew her to where I was. It was like coming home. We instantly started working towards where we are now. I quit partying like Ozzy Osborne and within a half year we were married and pregnant. We had 3 kids in 4 years. No sense in fucking around I always say.
