The states severely affected by Sandy - NY & NJ - won't sway the outcome of the election. Not sure what the point in even having an election there is, Romney could run against Stalin, Hitler, or Idi Amin and lose. Given the number of communist, self-hating Jews and blacks, hispanics, and other minorities living there, no white Republican Presidential candidate will ever stand a chance. Just save a lot of money, effort, and time and give those votes to the Democrat!

But what could delay the result if the electoral split ends up very close and hinges on a state like Ohio, where the winner will only be determined once the provisional ballots are all counted - 10 days after the election.

Personally I don't think the electoral split will be close, more likely it will be ~100 differential which could go for Mittness Protection Program Romney or the Long Legged Mack Daddy, depending on which voter turnout model ends up being closer to reality.
