Quoting: Anonymous Coward 15188107 This is a serious discussion, an adult discussion. Obama was right when he said "Rape is rape". Todd Akin represents the platform of the Republican party laid out at the RNC convention that is why he was not ashamed and refused to drop out of the race for Senate. The legislation he tried to get passed that was co authored with Paul Ryan tried to redefine rape as "Legitimate" rape meaning that there is a possibility that the person raped may have not been raped at all but was asking for it. Its easy to push i to the back burner if its a Woman but sen in the light of a heterosexual Male having to prove if he was "Legitimately raped" then you all bitch up and run away but the shit is real. The mentality of the Republicans is dangerous not only to Women but to Men too. Romneys policies DO give a rapist wiggle room....up your butt. |

These Tea Party & Republicans exhibit latent homosexual tendencies that are seen in their disdain for Women among other things. |

The Republicans seem to be trying to protect men from "buyers remorse" rape accusations. It's a difficult issue to tackle and I think the politicians are morons, but the idea isn't as sinister as you want to paint it. My take is "Rape is Rape, expect when it's a claim meant to hurt someone else and deprive them of their freedom." Now, the idea that male on male rape would go up because of that is... Really not making sense. Rapists are several things when you look at the stats on the topic. One of them is "driven by fear" both of arrest and by fear of personal harm during their attack. Most men, outside of prison, that are rapes by another man are under the influence of drugs or great amounts of alcohol at the time. They also don't tell anyone about it, so would have no need to fear having to prove it was rape. I'm not really seeing your point I guess. Just mud slinging towards on political party/candidate? That's fine, but it isn't going to get some dude rapes on the street. Maybe a slightly more legitimate grievance would work better right now? You only have a little over a day until the election. |
