It is not clear to me that the victims of Hurricane Sandy have considered what may be the bigger picture in all of this. This bigger picture is that God is bringing judgment to all the earth, starting with those who claim to be christians, ie the US.
As a matter of fact several prophets prophesied the flooding of New York City well in advance. David Wilkerson predicted that New Yorkers would one day be dumpster diving for food, and more recently Dr. Owuor specifically prophesied flooding in New York, New Jersey, eventually the great Lakes and much of the coastal reagions of the rest of the world.
Owuor has also prophesied an earthquake and tsunami for the eastern seaboard.
In Owuor's case he specifically cites homosexuality, and materialism in the church as the sins that have incited Gods wrath. Are we too proud to even consider this possibility? Have we forgotten that God judges the nations?
How many more times will we vote God out of our schools and vote in demagogues who will continue to kill unborn children and promote homosexuality? A proper response to all of this would be a call to repentance, followed by some real change. Instead, in defiance of God, they will talk about how resilient they are and how they will rebuild. Start by rebuilding your hearts before considering trying to save Sodom and Gomorrah.
