| Anonymous Coward User ID: 23992770 11/05/2012 08:52 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Whatever the ethics of it all, one thing is pretty clear - the countries that actually fell to British invasion (rather than those that were simply subject to temporary occupations and raids) and became part of the empire, and later the commonwealth, benefited a great deal as well in many ways. Though obviously some didn't benefit. But then again that was because they were the naughty ones. Take Obamas grandfather for example. Naughty boy. See, we looked out from our islands and saw the world was full of 'wrong uns'... so what were we to do? Civilise them of course. Bloody marvellous! Its also worth noting that many of the 'invasions' were merely raids... you know, sending a gunboat up a river. But mostly our lads were back on the ships in time for tea. |
