I've never had an abortion. However, Abortions will go on whether they are illegal or not, as they have been since the dawn of time.

I agree with you somewhat though....Rape and Medical Complications are valid reasons while "Ooops, I did it again..." not so great.

Nobody need have an abortion for that reason anymore now that the morning after pill exists.

If your birth control fails, you've got this pill.

It also easy to be against it and say you don't want one when you aren't in those shoes.

Obviously NOBODY REALLY WANTS TO GET AN ABORTION. It's a painful decision and process. You all act like pro-choices are jumping out of their shoes to get as many abortions as they possibly can. Most girls cry the entire way to the clinic, get called a whore walking in through the door by religious nuts, and cry the entire way back home.

It's not like people enjoy abortions. It's easy for you to judge because you've never been in those shoes before. I guarantee if you were, you'd consider an abortion also. If you got raped and pregnant by some random strange, I bet abortion would flash across your mind when trying to decide what to do.

I am a male and can never have an abortion so who am I to take it away from anyone else? I'll never understand what it's like to be in the shoes of possibly needing one. How could I judge something I'd never understand? Huh? How can you?

You know where I stand and I do not judge anyone, I leave that for someone else. FYI, I have friends that have had abortions. They are still my friends. Unfortunately one of them cannot have any kids due to an abortion.

The reason for this thread was a debate against my opinion and I wanted to see where people on GLP stood morally on this issue.

Personally, I find it sad that many people find abortion reasonable and in good morals, but that is just my opinion.

I made the choice on abortion for ME.

I have been pregnant twice and I have two kids. I have had the choice since I got pregnant the first time.

I chose to keep my son when his father and I split when I found out he was coming. I chose to have my daughter, even though there is 13 years between my children and I am getting old.

Ichose. I am not going to make that choice for someone else. My personal opinions on it resemble yours, but I don't have to live with anyone else's choices, just my own.

All the women I know who had an abortion had one because it wasn't convenient for them to have a baby at that time. Some went on to have children later. None of them had been raped or were in life/death situation.

So I do cast judgement on those that decide to kill these babies because it wasn't 'convenient' for them to deal with the consequences of their actions at the time. We all are judgemental on many topics no matter how much people deny they're not, otherwise you wouldn't have a concept of right or wrong and be reading and posting on this thread in the first place.

I never said I didn't want my children. Both of my kids were unplanned, but for me, not unhappy accidents. With both, I had a doctor telling me the ins and outs of abortion, and encouraging me to get one.

I believe God, a higher power, whatever, knows more about the timing then I do.

I had an unplanned pregnancy too, young and stupid and spread my own legs . I miscarried two weeks after marriage. The next two were planned and then I got my tubes tied during the c section birth of the 2nd one.

and what do you do to stop the unplanned children. I stopped as I said with my planned ones with a tubal ligation. So I would not have any unplanned children and it didn't seem my husband was going to stop wanting sex. Sex is a duty to me, always was. Its not "fun and games" just who I am . It is first and foremost for making a baby.

At the time, I was weak minded, being from a very abusive home and simply could not tell my boyfriend NO NO NO NO and More NO NO NO. Ok. what was your reason, lets be honest here. and in my age I didn't even fully know what birthcontrol was, I had not heard of rubbers but my boyfriend had and did not get some. I was semi aware of the rubber for women, which My mother had but nothing about how to get it. I went to a doctor for birthcontol since I had this NO problem and he would not give me birth control pills or other birthcontrol information because I was not married.

now I am 65. I raised my kids with the education I did not have about babies. My daughter had a boyfriend who was 14 and she was 15 and I even took them to planned parenthood to no avail. there was a pregancy that was miscarried after that time.

My son admitted that he should have kids out there,but nobody ever approached him, so he did not heed the teaching either. There is something with this society and its on purpose that does not say to premarital sex in kids far to young to parent a child. I don't have an answer but we must change.

babies are for married people who will commit to children. Other worlds solve these problems by teaching and also by rather stern measures ones of earth would assess anyway. These worlds demand respect for all life. they do not tolerate babies out of wedlock. If unmarried people make a child, they are sterilzed and the child given to those who can properly raise it.

Look at all the slums in this world which is so overpopulated and the walking pregnant in them. we have far more pregnant teenagers and unmarried women with children and divorced people etc than in the 1960s when I was in high school. We have major societal problems not even around this and this world is headed to death again for all the various reasons.

At some point every life will count and also people with dna problems will not reproduce and those without normal minds will not reproduce and the number of children will be restricted so as to no overpopulate the ability of the planet and society to provide WELL for all. Ponder these things.

I don't drink, and I'm with you on the whole sex as entertainment thing.

However, what I am NOT for is legislating individual liberty and telling people what they can and can't do with their bodies.

That is between them and God.

If there were more of us than them, (the Hedonists) then simple peer pressure and community shaming would be adequate means of control.

The Morning After pill simply prevents a fertilized egg from attaching to the wall of the uterus. This may or may not happen anyway.

It's not an "ABortion Pill" because there is no cellular Mitosis, you cannot feasibly call a fertilized egg a zygote or embryo.

It's nothing but potential.

If you eat these things like M&Ms yes, you should re-evaluate your life and choices...

But most people are too stupid to put that much thought into what they do.

So for the benefit of society we need these measures to keep unwanted children unborn.

Children belong into two parent homes and while it is difficult to legislate that, until people UNDERSTAND WHY this is important. We live in a world on MONEY, and that must go also. Societies that are mature and use not money are rich and they have no poor children. But they must still not overpopulate, any world can only supply so much.

The task ahead will be to make it so this world never goes under the sea again, we must become loving and sustainable within our cultures without destroying our home.

We have to make a way for every child........ to have the best and the best is not just money. or clothes, it is quality true education that match individual needs. Children are shoved into totally inappropriate schools on this world.

There's so much killing in the bible, only once does God say it is wrong. Other times God says things like, Go into that village and kill everyone in it, man woman child beast. Leave nothing left alive. No wonder there is still so much killing going on. Never once does the Bible say abortion is wrong, only that spilling your semen outside the vagina is wrong.

The bible, under moses, given by the people of the planet Jehovah, states that Thou Shalt not murder another human being. That is the sum total of that law and embryos are human beings, there is a soul there.

God the FAther is the creative MIND of the whole creation. YOu are part of that mind. THUGS not God did the above stories in the bible. Jesus came to those people because they were so fucked up it was incredible. That is why Moses came to them earlier. And Melchizedek. Those people were terrible and running around killing each other in the name of fake gods.

And since people are going to have sex, why is spilling semen wrong? Its a good method of birth control if people have no others. If you want to see some really horrid stuff. read the Talmud. Many of the rules are not rules of God at all, they are mistranslated or believed by people who no concept of god and are superstitious still, just like many today remain.

Spilling semen is no different than wearing a condom, that is what it does, catches it.

I cannot pass judgement about what other people do to themselves, though abortion crosses the line, where what a woman does to her own body she also does to another life. I cant decide whether I shoudl be outraged and disgusted by these women, or feel sad and pity them. I know there are a lot of them, they walk among us an dunless they tell us we would never know who they are. They arent exactlyevil people. They are just normal people that for reasons of fear or selfishness or guilt or shame have allowed themselves to decide that an embryo is not human. It saddens me to think that they can be the kind of person that would not think of what kind of person that embryo would be..not wonder what that unborn person could bring to them, the world. Who knows, Jesus may have tried to be born again a few times and kept getting aborted. lol not funny i know, no offense. But really, billions of aborted fetuses - at least a few of them statistically were bound to be world changers, but the world has lost them.
I am glad my own birth mother did not abort me - would have made her life easier. I am glad to be here. I may not be a world changer personally, though I hope that my children may be.

You cannot judge anothers soul, you ARE allowed to teach to them, listen to them, and so on and so forth. you are allowed to judge BEHAVIORS, but not the soul, for you don't know the purpose of that soul with God. People we have so many problems in our world because some of you misunderstand the teachings.

To judge behaviors without judging the soul is where you go. Because many will not make statements about behaviors is one reason this world is so screwed up as to God knowledge and the learning of the ways of the Father. YOu must set example if you know what the ways of the Father ARE in the first place, that is how it works. every human on this planet, at least once a day should go over their own behaviors and review them, growth happens no other way. Every one that has gone against the laws of God should be going back and reviewing what made you make such a decision.

As I reported I was none to strong in saying NO NO NO NO back when I was not married. I wasn't screwing around per se, but the act of spreading my legs because I could not say no to my boyfriend, out of insecurity in myself, led to a marriage in which we really should have WAITED, we really should not have been engaged in sex in that first year of college at all. And it was after my rape by a guy I dated over the weekend, early in that year, of 1965. I did say no, it was rape, to no avail, but then when I was mistreated by mother when I came home late after that, I lost all ability to say no after that incident. my boyfriend was nice. but we were forced into a marriage by the pregnancy, that happened a happened about a year and 1/2 later. We married in May of 1967. We were not ready truly yet. And as I said, I naturally miscarried the pregnancy 2 weeks later after we married, but we were married.

On the night of my marriage and over the next days I truly regretted what I had done. I was not ready to marry. Neither of us was, it upset our college careers, will it upset mine more than his, for he was put first. We did ok. But as I looked back year after year, I continued to face my karma of those times. Eventually the marriage broke but for entirely different reasons which I won't go to in here.

We make errors and we need to study those errors, and the doing so of it daily leads to wisdom and a better life.

Your churches don't teach daily wisdom much, do they? I do this after almost everything I do now, its a good habit to form, all day long.

hey even Jesus and Mary M had their moment and a child created not long before the crucifixion which separated them. Jesus survived and it was agreed with the celestial advice be the crucifixion for him to go east. She and others of the apostles and family were deported to the Mediterranean sea in hopes they would perish. They did not, they landed on the mediterranean shore of Southern France, she carrying the baby born on that boat ashore. SaRa was her name and from thence forward came all the legends of Europe. Joseph of A was always the guardian of Mary M.

Jesus married in Kasmir and he and that wife bore 5 more children into the world. There are godly reasons for doing things actually, but little SaRa was the unplanned situation but she did bring forth the holy DNA in Europe in her adult years. Even the highest of star seeds incarnate in this world err....or so it seems at times.

Women don't perform their own abortions, they hire and PAY someone to end the life of another human.

I have to agree that abortion is wrong.... BUT in ALL CASES. it's about looking outside yourself. In rape cases, the resulting child had no say whatsoever. GIVE THE CHILD A CHANCE TO EXPERIENCE LIFE. it's that simple. People that say that the child is just going to grow up with a bad life or whatever are missing the point. We all have our story. We all don't have the perfect life. But don't you appreciate that u at least have the chance to live? Give it up for adoption if you don't want the child. Perhaps the soul itself decides when and if to enter a particular body?

can you give any argument, there is no soul then? Its not a question of assigning a soul except in the case of reincarnation. That the zygote will grow at indicates something dear one. It is not going to grow without something to motivate it and that is something is LIFE/SPirit. A reincarnating soul can enter at any time and sometimes waits until after birth, but even if you "knew" that, you cannot destroy the body the incarnating soul is creating within you.
