I don't know if you are aware, but in most cities now, it is illegal to have an open fireplace & burning wood, coal. Where I live, only "natural gas" & electricity is allowed. We can thank environmental laws for this.

I didnt say Fireplaces or OPEN anything, I said a woodburning stove which is contained . You do know what a woodburning stove is right?

And of course fireplaces though are legal here. Its usually already built into homes but its no where near able to provide livable heat like a woodburning stove can.

Heres a link to woodburning stoves from ACE hardware, practically sold in every city of the USA

I was replying to your statement about children etc. Since cities have stict laws about wooodburning stoves, this makes it impossible for most average families or poorer families. I just spoke to my own city about this & if we live in condo's we cannot install a woodburning stove at all. Only private independent standing homes can "apply" for a permit & has to be inspected, & the fire dept. also have to be part of it. Plus, one's home insurance goes up. Again, with so much of big brother involved, it becomes financially impossible for most.

Again, you think us Americans are moronic and stupid? Of course it has to be up to code !!!!!!!! youll burn your place down if it isnt !!!!

And of course condos and apartments cant have a stove, duh ! But if one was to raise a family, of course youre expected to provide a real home for them.

and boo hoo hoo, too many hurdles to save your families life if the heat went out. Boo hoo, cant save up money no, for something that could save your life, Cant walk down or make phone calls to make sure everythings good to go, yeah, too much trouble to make a fire, only heating elements and furnace from utility company can provide us like a baby and a teat, boo hoo, cry me a river.
