If you do store some gas. Don't forget to put stabilizer in it :)
Quoting: Blue Skies What is a stabiliser? Will it stop the expansion of the gas, while being stored? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7554855 Gasoline is a liquid, liquids neither compress nor expand (thermal expansion coefficient is VERY low) due to temperature changes. A stabilizer is a product that when added to fuel will allow a longer term of storage prior to the fuel breaking down. One has nothing to do with the other. Quoting: Sledster This past summer, I purchased 2 small plastic gas cans & filled them with gasoline. I stored outside by a hedge & covered them lightly with a tarp. After a few months went by I went to check on them & they were both swollen. I opened the caps slowly to release the gases & dumped the gasoline into my car. So lesson learned. How the can we store gasoline safely with this happening. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7554855 I think it would have taken less than a few months for this guy to drive back to the city and deliver the desperately needed fuel.
