Texan Buckeye User ID: 1533753 United States 11/05/2012 12:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's not so much his staff, it's a Secret Service rule. Everyone has to show up to be cleared hours before and they can't leave until well after the VIP leaves. Always been that for all of them. Quoting: Texan Buckeye The sad part is Romney is the VIP... True, but as a mom, why weren't these kids dressed properly? Seriously, it's Pennsylvania, for crying out loud! They know better. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26991073 [link to americablog.com] This is happening right now at Mitt Romney’s rally in Pennsylvania. Apparently it’s freezing, and Romney’s staff is refusing to let rally-goers leave. People are begging reporters for help. Click link for tweets. Saaaayy Whaaaaat??? |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 26924514 United States 11/05/2012 01:02 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well, let's see the rally is in Bucks County [link to articles.mcall.com] here's the current weather for Allentown, which is Bucks County [link to www.weather.com] 41 degrees, feels like 35 with a 9 mph wind, gusting to 17 Yeah, I'd want my 6 year old standing out in that for sure. |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 26991073 Germany 11/05/2012 01:02 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Apparently this was posted already 15 hours ago without any large response: Thread: Romney Supporters Illegally IMPRISONED at Pennsylvania Campaign Rally! [link to www.politicususa.com] In this world of instant political media shorthand, the story was changed to Romney campaign won’t let his supporters out. In reality, it was the Romney campaign, volunteers, and the Secret Service not letting people out. |

Seriously, it's Pennsylvania, for crying out loud! They know better. Quoting: Texan Buckeye Meybe they didn't expect to be caged for hours. Even if dressed properly, kids cool out quickly, you should kow as a mom. No, they knew how long it would take. They are always told BEFORE they get there and again BEFORE they go in. People just don't use commen sense anymore. There's a bigger chance of kids wetting their pants, than frostbite at these things. I know, we took our kids to one...ONCE! |

But the Secret Service did end up letting them leave. I guess they realize that under obama the Sec. Bullshut, Romney came much too late and people were not allowed to leave. |

[link to www.politicususa.com] It is difficult to believe that a photo-op obsessed campaign like Romney’s would just have security in mind. The people who came to this rally already went through security when they entered, so the whole idea that letting out some cold children would present a security threat is laughable. (The Romney campaign has already demonstrated their fear of children with their refusal to take questions from Nickelodeon, so anything is possible, I guess.) As a person who spent years working with venues and security details, I can tell you that those children and people could have been allowed to leave the venue while posing zero security risk to anyone. My own experience tells me that this was less about security, and more about Romney preserving the image of viability and vitality that he is desperately chasing around the country. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 11758031 United States 11/05/2012 01:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I read this earlier. I knew that it would be *no big deal* here on GLP because it happened at a Romney event. But if this had happened at an Obama event, they would be screaming about how terrible it was. Then they would add that Obama was probably trying to keep them there so he could put them in FEMA camps. The double standard is evident here. |

Well, all I can tell you is, I wish YOU would run these things. It's a royal pain in the ass. I'm surprised as many people attend them as they do. They have ALWAYS been this way. EVERYONE knows that. Sorry, your argument fails. |
