Is it smart to want to adopt a child from China ?

A child is a child. Doesn't matter what package it comes in.

Why China?

Is it wild or domestic?

I know how they limit the family and how they kill the baby girls. I want to adopt a baby from Ethiopia . I just feel so bad for the kiddos. I want to become a pediatrician too.

Yea, that's true ,but I still want to adoptable child from China.

I have a puppy. I don't want a child now! I'll keep a puppy for now. I don't want a kid to adopt until I am financially stabled.

I'm not adopting until AFTER med school.

Do this first and work for 15 Years,
you are able to save countless Humans
and the thankful Eyes of many Babies, Kids, Teenager and Parents will be the Food for you!

At the moment you don't have a chance to get a Adoptive Child via the legal Way!

Anytime one opens their heart and offers a home and hope to a child in need it is a wonderful thing. Are you aware the of the costs involve in adopting from China ? I worked for a bank and one of our regular customers adopted from China on 2 different occassions. Each time they needed $60,000.00 in cash, and it had to be in brand new, perfect condition 100 dollar bills. We had to check each bill one by one to ensure that there was not so much as a fold or crease on them. Our customer explained that and un perfect bill would be rejected by the adoption agency in China.

Sad that so many kids need homes, and few can afford the adoption expenses

It is a noble idea you have now, one that is perfectly healthy for a young woman your age to aspire towards.

The study of medicine will require all of your time and energy for about a decade.

During that time, you may find a wonderful man to marry, or you may decide to devote your life to your career.

Please leave all of your options open as your life, studies, and career develop.

Perhaps your local church or house of worship has a program to help children, either locally or in other countries -- you could look into helping unfortunate children that way.

Yea, I could. I want to do a yearly thing by helping less unfortunate kids in my area with free check ups . Provide food for them , games and a little petting zoo. Something for the kids once a year. Free of charge of course.

Thanks, but it's clearly a load of crap. If for no other of the long list of reasons, we'll pick,,,, you can't fly with that much.

I've heard this about adoptions before...If you are going to adopt, it is better to get a child from China. The Chinese government is very proud and does not want anyone outside their borders to know they have children with disabilities so any child adopted from China is going to be as near to perfect as possible (for the honor of their country).

Russia/Romania, on the other hand, wants to get rid of their children with disabilities so it is very likely any child you adopt from that country will either have severe mental issues or suffer from neglect.

I know two people that adopted from Russia and both instances, the children turned out to have severe autism (which they didn't find out until much later). Also, the conditions in the orphanages there were deplorable.

Adoption is wonderful! Kids both here at home and in other countries are all in need of a loving home. I think if a person can afford foreign adoption, they should do it, and if others can qualify for local adoptions they should do that too.
So many kids need homes. What would be the best though would be for people to open their hearts to older children that need them even more. It is hard though. CPS tends to try to keep babies with their parents despite the parents not being fit. By the time they give up and decide the children should be put up for adoption, they arent babies anymore, and fewer people are willing to adopt them. It is sad, really.

The Russian orphans are often left behind by alcoholic parents and mothers drank during pregnancy. It just seems to be their thorn in the flesh like we have crack babies in America..

Chinese babies would be perfect, simply left behind for being a girl.

I had a friend that adopted a little girl, a todler from China. It was a lot of trouble and took a long time, but the child was adorable; beautiful, healthy and smart. Learned to speak english very quickly and to love its new Mommy

I tried to adopt a girl from china. My girlfriend objected on account of she was 18 years old and cuter than her.

I think Chinese children are beautiful. I have visited China three times in the past few years, and I think I took 50 pictures of those China dolls!

How's a young person afford such a thing? Will you and that kid be on welfare? Try adopting a porch monkey instead,they come with food stamps,plus you won't have the overseas expense.
