The Russian media has referred to this as a new bid for their country’s “naval dominance.” Moscow’s aims are to establish the nuclear superiority of its naval fleet with sea-based nuclear attack capabilities. This is a direct reaction to the Pentagon’s global missile shield and the encirclement of Russia and its allies. Over fifty new warships and more than twenty new submarines will be added to the Russian fleet by 2020. About 40% of the new Russian submarines will have lethal nuclear strike capabilities. This process started after the Bush Jr. White House began taking steps to establish the US missile shield in Europe. In the last few years, Russia’s counter-measures to the US missile shield have begun to manifest themselves. Trials of Russia’s Borey class submarine in the White Sea, where the port of Archangel (Arkhangelsk) is situated, began in 2011. In the same year the development of the submarine-launched Liner ballistic nuclear missile was announced, which was said to be able to pierce through the US missile shield. A Russian submarine would secretly test the Liner from the Barents Sea in 2011 [link to hamsayeh.net] |
Sleeping Giant (OP) User ID: 543618 United States 11/05/2012 07:08 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I know how they found it, old school stuff. Quoting: Chrit [link to news.bbc.co.uk] Submarine spotting Now a report in the magazine New Scientist says the probable reason for the action is that the scientists are all study bioluminescent plankton which can reveal the whereabouts of submarines. Many species of plankton can generate light, so measurements of bioluminescence can be used to study their global distribution. But in releasing the results of bioluminescence studies done over the past three decades, the biologists found themselves in trouble. The shining plankton often glow when they are physically disturbed. The wake of a submerged submarine could cause this. This flash of light can be spotted from surface vessels, aircraft or even orbiting satellites. Interesting... Wake up, oh sleeper, and rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you |
Children of the Atom User ID: 20257839 United States 11/05/2012 07:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A Russian nuclear-powered attack submarine cruised within 200 miles of the East Coast recently in the latest sign Russia is continuing to flex its naval and aerial power against the United States, defense officials said. Quoting: Sleeping Giant The submarine was identified by its NATO designation as a Russian Seirra-2 class submarine believed to be based with Russia’s Northern Fleet. It was the first time that class of Russian submarine had been detected near a U.S. coast, said officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of anti-submarine warfare efforts. One defense official said the submarine was believed to have been conducting anti-submarine warfare efforts against U.S. ballistic and cruise missile submarines based at Kings Bay, Georgia. I'm not even sure most Americans remember how to be scared! It takes a lot to do that, more than a sub lurking about. Be that as it may, perhaps Putin feels sorry for the abandoned victims of Hurricane Sandy and is considering trying to come to their aid since Obama sure hasn't. One of the most important aspects of conspiracy theories is being able to discern when there isn't one. Oh yeah, like you'd understand anyway. Where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?. . .J. Handy |

Captain Spaulding User ID: 27060488 United States 11/05/2012 07:27 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It happened up and down the east coast and around Florida during WWII. German U-Boats were photographed from aerial recon planes regulary all over the Gulf. My best friends Dad, who I was good friends with also, was the photographer. He was a pretty credible guy, being the head of the pharmacy at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. We would get into conversations about it. He was also the person who told me about Ford selling vehicles and parts to the Germans during the war, and Bayer (not only being the company that developed heroin, and why they named it that) being the chemical company that produced the gas for the chambers in Aushwitz. I think he was one of the guys that sparked my interest in conspiracy stuff in the middle 70's. |

Russia announces things they're gonna build but they have not actually built anything in any numbers since the soviet era. |

There are some secrets that are above all of the elected government, including the president. They may not be tasked with protecting the people from their political choices, but they are tasked with protecting the USA, and our most vital secrets. The Russians are wise enough, and aware enough to not test these facts... Or are they, really? Stupidity and ignorance in these matters could be considered suicidal. :P |
