WOW.
Over simplification.
The British happened to win against the French and the Dutch and Spain and Portugal.
All of those countries were attempting to do the same thing.
EMPIRE BUILDING.
The USA has been guilty of this too. We have done it through different methods.
Germany attempted to do it in a bold quick strike.
Russia has also done it. Much the same way as the USA.
China is now doing it.
Farther back in history the Romans did it.
The Egyptians did it.
The Syrians did it.
The Babylonians did it.
etc...
It's what mankind does.
