something I'm not hearing here in this discussion is the cost to carry that debt in itself eats up much of the deficit even before anything else is done. I'd like to see the bell curve over time and administration. Because I do Remember Dubya went fucking nuts with spending compared to those before him. And like I said above the interest to carry the debt is stupidly huge in terms of dollars. As for the auto industry bailout that HAD to be done if GM and Chrysler had of gone under there would be no hope in hell of keeping the American (and world) economy out of a recession. It was a gutsy move that paid off.
