The Electoral College does the REAL voting! In the 2000 U.S. presidential election more Americans voted for Gore, but Bush won because he was awarded the majority of Electoral College votes. In fact four presidents have been elected by the Electoral College after losing the popular vote. So you are correct - not only do they give you the two candidates - the actual election is a dog and pony show that could result in a president who the people say is not the president. But to make you believe you live in some form of representative government, they spend 20 billion on political ads to "sway" your vote. The biggest dog and pony show on the planet. |
