I have been wondering about this all day. They promised they would deliver water supplies to NY. Did they delay the shipment or was it delivered?

They were relying on FEMA to truck it in. The food stamp cards weren't working with the power out, and it was cash only. that was a problem for a lot of people. I agree they should have had water on hand just in case.

Apparently the tap water is okay to drink FROM SILIVE DOT COM on monday: Staten Island drinking water is safe, DEP officials says USER COMMENT: "I just gave my tap water a test and got a reading of 50ppm total disolved solids. That translates into very good tap water. It doesn't give us a bacteria count but since I could smell the clorine/cloramine there is probably no worry about bacteria."
