And there IS something to be said about the impersonal aspect of killing hundreds of people without having to face them to do it. USAF and USN pilots have said as much themselves. It's a risky business for mankind when the wholesale slaughter of other humans is done with little emotional impact. And I don't blame the pilots. I blame the politicians who use these instruments of mass destruction much too liberally, too often. For instance: 11 years in Afghanistan, and going to Iraq at all. Throw Vietnam in there, too.
