First spire section added to WTC today...18 Sections total, they plan to add (1) section per week. Should be complete week of April 8, 2013. The 7th spire, per schedule above, should be added week of Jan 21, 2013 and the 13th on week of Mar 4, 2013...not sure if that means anything or not... The final two segments of the 408-foot spire will rest on a construction platform for several weeks until the entire needle is permanently installed. With the spire as its crown, the trade center will soar to a symbolic 1,776 feet in the air — a reference to the birth of the nation in 1776.
