I live in Islip town on the south shore of Long Island. It is a fucking disaster area. Day 10 no utilities, nor'easter coming tommorow.

"Inland" is like a half hour ride max from either the north shore or the south...LI is long...and skinny...really wouldn't make any difference...

From what I understand the Island is in pretty rough shape, but the people in Suffolk county will probably get by ok for the most part, they are more likely to band together and take care of their own than the areas closer to and in the city who are more reliant on services.

Difference beings, their homes and buildings are still standing. When they are faced with an emergency, you can bet your ass that their Red Cross will not drive around offering hot chocolate, and will actually do something about it.

I should bet my ass that you have zero clue as to what the Red Cross is or does....I'd win.

Then the money goes to ant bases and those make fun out of thereselfs in a rotten area and nobody knows or does ..

When we saw Katrina aftermath too from over here it was like wt!! we just couldnt believe it..

Hurricanes are bad news...I've been through several and it's a very rough ride...we always rebuild, but the devastation can be and often has been stunning...

We get some real bad ones here in the states, not like Spain does, if the rare hurricane does come by you, it's pretty weak when it does...we've been hit by some monsters.

Sorry, i guess your right, I can be soooo selfish. After so much hard campaigning our dear leader is certainly entitlled to a little recreation and down time.

Try and stay warm friend...be careful too if you are out and around doing anything. Hope you and everyone else gets things back goin soon.

From what I can see, they tend to take donations, and they seem to disappear without reaching the people.

I'm female, and I dig equality, but I like my men strong. I like a man who can provide for his family, go chop wood and heat his home, garden and grow his own food, hunt to feed his family, doesn't complain, does more than he's supposed to and never expects a reward. A man who knows what the term "being a man" means. It's not in how much money you make or what overpriced car you drive, but in how you are and what your values are, and doing what needs to be done to achieve them. Most men complain as much, if not more than women these days.

You want to sit and whine about women, you petty little Nazi prick, I bet you're not even half the man most women complain about.

When men start stepping up and doing what needs to be done, then maybe things will be different. "Real men" are the ones who are out doing something about their problems, instead of the ones like you who piss and moan online about them.
