In this day and age and the vast options we have for birth control? If a person does not want a baby they can prevent it.

LASTLY - Maybe you have been involved in an abortion, it's not anyone here to condeem you, that doesn't meen it's right. That is an issue between you and YHWH, who created everything. Luckly thoug, for those that choose not to fight the law, there is an option. IF you feel that you need forgiveness you do have an option, if you don't well I'm sorry but "good luck"

Yashua, paid it all, including for me, I wanted to claim I was the worst sinner, but Paul beat me to it, but I'll take that up with him later.

Yashua, does save, but the days grow darker it gets harder to follow.

Wow. LOTS of high and mighty VERY moral people posting to you here ... I wonder how many of them have a penis? Personally, I don't discuss reproductive rights withanyone who doesn't have a uterus.

But you do, so here is my two cents. My grandmother half raised me, and told me that "back in the day" when there was no birth control, women would be grateful when they would miscarry early - because having baby after baby after baby was just that exhausting. And for some, there was sometimes a woman available who knew her way around herbs and could give you "something" to keep the pregnancy from continuing. She told me this was a blessing ...

Remember too, that up until 1970 a woman couldn't get a hysterectomy without her husband's written permission. Some men still haven't realized we are now in charge of our own bodies.

I worked in a shelter for 2 years, for the State for 7 years, and volunteered for Big Brothers/Big Sisters for 5 years - and now I am a married mother of four. YOU are right - most people do not want to adopt non white or less than perfect babies. You want to bring God into this discussion? ALL children are born equally loved by the Divine - however, not all children are born equal. I've seen kids abandoned, abused, burned, cut and bruised ... have any of you? Babies are adorable but somehow much less fun when they become toddlers and that is when life becomes hell for so many little ones. When my own kids are grown I plan to take in foster children ... have any of YOU considered this? Or do you just talk about the evils of abortion and do nothing to help actual living children?

And if you want to use the argument that anyone who gets pregnant is meant BY GOD to have a baby - that means that all the people out there who are "barren" are meant by that same God to not be parents. You can't have it both ways.

Pagan or otherwise, your religion has nothing to do with what comes next. You can have the baby - in fact, there are places you can live and be cared for until you do give birth, and give it up if you like. Don't use the father's mental state as a reason to not have the baby, your child will likely be fine and be adopted especially if you give him/her up as a newborn. Or have an abortion QUICKLY without guilt - do what you feel is best and move on ... I've never had an abortion but I know plenty of women who have and NO, they are not living their lives with regret. Most do not. With regard to Celtic Paganism, I suggest a great book called "Celtic Women's Spirituality" by Edaine McCoy. Celtic women chose their husbands (or to not have a husband), could own land, fought alongside men in wars and ruled/held politial office. Christians and Muslims seek to keep their women weak - Pagans didn't and never will!

Really? *rolls eyes* Then why haven't I've been saved of my sufferings??? Why has my life got worse and worse year after year? I'm in my late 30s and never been pregnant, IN MY LIFE, and used birth control, btw. I see this as the worst thing that could have happened to me. Don't tell me it's because I've had sex before marriage because I know a lot of happy people with many Blessings that do that and some live together 'live in sin' and I know a lesbian couple that's very happy together and doesn't have half the misery I suffer.
Fine, than pray for me because, the devil obviously has been blocking me from being 'saved'.

Killing anybody is a 'sin'.
'Thou shall not suffer a witch to live' The Bible said put to death certain other people too...
OH, but killing is a sin. One of the ten commandments.
How many people died in 'Holy Wars'? Excuses excuses.

If you think that killing an innocent baby is okay, regardless of religion, you need mental help. You have been brainwashed by the feminists into thinking that it is alright, that it is your "right" to do with your body as you choose. Oh, that's true, but you do NOT have the right to do with THAT body as you choose.

Abortion was introduced before the flood that destroyed the world the first go round by one of the fallen watchers. It is one of the many reasons God Almighty brought that age to an end.

I was brought up Catholic, so was told...ya'know.
Some of the teachings didn't seem right, so I was starting to think outside the box as I got older.

Well, I felt drawn to Celtic Paganism and read in a book(not sure if it's true or not) that abortion was a woman's right and there was nothing wrong with it.

I know the Catholic Religion is full makes people feel guilty about a lot of things!

Anybody see what I'm trying to say?

Overall, is abortion really bad, if you're doing it for several reasons, such as financial, having mental disabilities, and the father being broke also. I don't want a child to grow up without a dad(he wants nothing to do with it) and also I can barely take care of myself. I don't think the fetus feels anything when it's aborted. I just don't want the child to grow up to hate me for having it.
Is that so bad?
 Quoting: thecelticcats

OP,

You're creating excuses why abortion may seem okay even when you're supposedly against its practice. That code of ethics you're imposing upon yourself is called self righteousness. The problem with self righteousness is that you're not a perfect person. Therefore, you really aren't the one who decides what sin is or isn't.

God, on the other hand says the blood of the innocent cries out to him from the dust.

You can go your way or you can go His way. Its your choice. But don't expect God to be cool with your decision No mater what you decide to do. Choices come with consequences.

The choice is yours.

Many people won't approve. Fortunately, you don't need their approval.

Obviously, it's not ideal, but it is your life and your decision. Some say it's a form of murder. Which is to be avoided if possible. It can be a heavy experience. It should be respected as such. But don't feel guilty, or let these supposed Christians preach with such hatred and guilt. Only God judges us. They shouldn't presume to know your inner experience.

I believe you understand. But most of these people won't say anything you'll want to hear.

I imagine in earlier more cooperative societies which enjoyed different socially acceptable intoxicants and engaged in group orgies, the women had children, and all children belonged to the men of the tribe. Not only their own stock.

 Quoting: dontisntcant 26696239

Good advice and true. Indigenous people all over the world still believe this and raise their children tribably. One woman will nurse another's baby; all care for the children because they are in fact the future of the tribe. I have a friend who lived on the Pine Ridge Reservation for 7 years, she told me that the Lakota say "We beat our dogs and pet our children ... the whites have it backwards".

You have a lot to think about - good night!

I have a book called Celtic Magic by D.J. Conway and talks about stuff similar to what you said and herbs were given to woman, for unplanned pregnancies... It was a woman's CHOICE to keep a baby or not. Yes, I believe that.

I believe in a past life I was killed in a Holy war. What was it? Something like over 5 million died and they stole children....
and then you have the witch hunts...I could go on... if you were a child of a witch they killed you, oh, but that's different, according to the know it all Bible thumpers.

Thou shalt not murder has been around since Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel.

Abortion is murder.

Outside the box is a scary place.
A woman has the option of keeping her legs closed. The baby has no choice.

So. the woman ruts like a dog. Knowing she can get preggies when she cannot afford it and lets the baby pay for it. Like it was his fault.

If she cannot control herself to be responsible, she needs to get her tubes tied. Babies are not trash to be throw out when they are not wanted.

Being saved doesn't mean rescuing you from your suffering, it means saving you from God's wrath. It's a hard concept to grasp, but people usually go through the most suffering when they are comtemplating being saved or right after they are saved. Suffering brings about endurance and endurance brings faith.

Another way to grasp it is to remember that Jesus was led into the wilderness to be tempted by sin, thirst and hunger immediately after His baptism. If the devil came after the Son of God, then you can be danged sure he will come after the rest of us mortal humans. However, I would still trade 70+ years of this life for eternity in bliss.

Luck and friendship.
