Rather than celebrating this debacle of "protectionism" at the polls, we should be saying "WTF are they doing?" These "protections" of the polling place are not meant for special interests and ex-military to take charge of.
The damn individual States' Election Boards are supposed to ensure the safe environment where people can cast their vote without intimidation and coercion.
Applauding the Seals for intervening is just feeding into the insanity. Holding the States accountable would be the first logical step.

I completely agree. One thing though, the military guys are not standing in front of the doors intimidating. They are at a distance observing and making sure the BP's are behaving themselves.

No, I'm not. What I'm saying is voter intimidation is a crime. The Police can handle it if a crime occurs. Further I'm saying that folks in Philly aren't so easily intimidated. The notion of Navy Seals and Special Forces rusing in just seem a bit melodramatic in my eyes. But hey, that's just my opinion.

The black panthers DO NOT have the right to stand at polls intimidating people by holding weapons and talking shit to white people. Didn't they have police batons or something last time or was it baseball bats? They look like a bunch of scrubs compared to SEALS and if they tried to intimidate voters in the presence of former or current military members there to observe, they would be shut the fuck up in short order.

Although not intimidating, they do serve as further distraction and unease at the voting facility. Those responsible for "safe and fair" elections need to get their asses to the plate now. Anyone not acting in the confines of the law need to be removed from those polling places.
Which begs the question, why is this behavior so rampant in the country? The Black Panther who caused the stir last election is now back at the same polling place, but in an "official" capacity. Guess he's "changed" now, right?

Well according to the Fox News article the guy in question had permission to be there. So obviously he didn't have a weapon. I am aware that there was video footage from the past of the guy standing there with a baton. He was arrested. If they brandish a weapon or intimidate people they will be arrested by Philly's finest. I just really don't understand what role the Seals/Special Forces (retired) hope to play in this particular incident. If the panther is just standing there, with permission, without a weapon, not intimidating people (which is what the Fox News article says) then exactly what is the big fucking deal?
