I'd be more worried if he had about 20,000 buddies and a few tanks and helicopters with him rolling down main street telling you on a megaphone to please stay in your home.
 Quoting: Leslie Zevo

Eh, I don't picture the U.N soldiers being very intimidating...We have gangs here in california that could handle em..
 Quoting: *Evan*

But the UN isn't suppose to have boots on our ground, they are for peace keeping in other countries, we don't need peace keepers here in the DFW area.

I mean isn't this a strange thing? Should they be here in Arlington, TX? what the heck is going on... and to top it off, we've had several of those twin blade hellicopters flying around all day today. I have probably seen at least 12.
 Quoting: KenTx2011

what it means is that just like how some countrys in north africa need the UN to check against fraud the USA needs it aswell...
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1285189

I cannot say for the rest of the DFW area, but what I can say that here in Arlington, Mansfield, Burleson, Kennedale have all been paper ballots... so no computer problems here. I was surprised when I got there to vote and saw the paper ballots.

The real question is, was he armed as well?
 Quoting: LORIEN

Yes it appeared that he was. He had the whole big belt thing on with all the stuff in it...I know, I'm not a military person, so I don't know what all they keep on that belt) but you could see his holstered gun.

International forces (Interpol, UN, Mounties, Etc) have to be cleared by the US to carry a gun outside your home embassy. So a Mountie can only carry a gun while on a Canadian Embassy, a UN soldier can only carry a gun at a United Nations site, or on land being occupied or where they are considered to be peacekeeping. Which means this UN soldier was overseeing something. Probably our voting system like they did with the voting systems in Africa and the EU.

His ancestry does not tell us anything about his nationality.

In neighboring OK here we have many people of Lebanese heritage whose families have been here over a century.

Also many naturalised Persians and their adult offspring.

Your observation, however, makes it statically less likely that he was American.

That's strange, I saw a list of the proposed UN observers posted on GLP a few days ago, and none were supposed to come from middle eastern countries, it was all white eastern european countries.

Anyway I hope this fine fellow served to encourage any undecided to vote for Romney who might actually stand up to the UN.
