The correct response is poverty is correlated with low IQ. Appalacia has a tremendous amount of poor white people that have a term for them called 'white trash' and I would suggest that rather than your racial comment be indicative of reality, the truth is that poverty correlates with low intelligence (more often than not). From Wikipedia: The term white trash first came into common use in the 1830s as a pejorative used by house slaves against poor whites. No need to explain or prove it here; it's a fact whether you care to acknowledge it or not. In states with high percentages of Spanish speaking immigrants, the average person does better on tests of Spanish-English bilingualism. The Northeast cannot be expected to match that. Spanish-English bilingualism is one of the most important social skills, and one that isn't teachable in conventional primary and secondary schools, because it is too hard, and/or takes too much time to perfect. By the way, "mensa" in colloquial Spanish means "a stupid person." |
