Your correct on the democrat party being finished because now Obama and the democrats will take all the blame once Obamacare kicks in fully in 2014 many seniors will die because of the death panels in the bill. The democrats wasn't expecting to keep the Whitehouse this time because they wanted Hillary to run in 2016. But now they will see a very big backlash from the voters before the end of 2013 once the MSM finally reports the truth about Obama because many of them will be effected from his policies.

Yes, Democrats lied, lied and lied some more through-out the whole process. Yes, Obama being a sitting president, esp. with Hurrican Sandy, didn't help. Obama also had well over a BILLION dollars to spend, and arguably an unparalled ground-game in swing states in history of American politics. The Bin Laden kill, however many times Obama over-ruled it. The Liberal MSM killing the Benghazi cover-up story, and completely manipulaying the Unemployment numbers right before the election.

And Obama still almost LOST it. In fact, once all votes are re-counted, maybe he did.

Either way, Republicans BLEW IT. Hard. On every level. Literally. Had they they nominated NOT a Moron, NOT a Wall-Street 1-Percenter with a vague Job-Outsourcing aura about him that Obama people exploited..... had the Tea Party idiots been muzzled and not allowed to interfere in the Primaries process --- both Presidential and in the Senate....

Republicans would have narrowly WON the Presidency and likely Missouri and Indiana senate seats, too. Hell, with Scott Brown's 60%$ approaval rating, he probable also just edges out that militant Harvard Marxist Elizabeth Warren.

As mentioned elsewhere, Rubio, Chris Christie or David Petreus would have been a virtual shoe-in for Republicans over Obama.

And this raises lots of questions. Who knew, what and when? Where was Karl Rove in all of this? And so on and so forth.

Lots of soul-searching to be done for GOP. This one got away. It's worse than when Ross Perot stole one from Bush, Sr and propelled Slick Willy to the White House ---- if only because hispanics and muslims weren't large enough voting blocks, yet.
