Anonymous Coward User ID: 23794435 United States 11/06/2012 10:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I twitter searched 'riot' a while ago and have been watching. Lots of threats from both sides - but I agree there seem to be more from the 'riot if Romney wins' camp. Check again with your reading glasses. I'm not seeing one Romney person saying they are going to riot if he doesn't win. |

You are right.. when I started watching the stream it seemed like the threats were coming from both sides, but I was wrong. I take back my 'both sides' comment. Its really interesting that there is so much discussion though about direct action. This element of the election somehow feels more representative/legit. Im not saying I agree/disagree with a more hands on approach - but it feels like the people are speaking, and they are being heard. |

You're saying rioting makes their representation more legit? That's crazy. That's like saying that a bully's opinion is more 'representative' just because he beats the crap out of someone. Quite frankly, I'm shocked to see that so many Obama supporters would resort to it, suggest it, want to join in with it, etc. The only thing that it is representative of is that apparently, a large segment of the population are animals with no morals, no integrity and anger management issues. |

I use the term 'direct action' loosely, and I don't support violence. But I do think its important to acknowledge that we are seeing that people are really starting to feel empowered enough to express their voices and their discontent, although the tactics may be misguided. Social media is giving a voice to people who now understand the strength in unifying with others who share similar goals and speaking out together. And I think this interest helps hold media, representatives accountable. |

"Social media" is for losers, pussies, and other assorted misfits who are so STUPID they don't realize they just volunteered their personal info to TPTB. |

And I think this interest helps hold media, representatives accountable. I remember that the Tea Partiers and NRA were able to 'unify' and 'express their discontent' in large groups with NO violence (or talk of violence) whatsoever. There is no way you can sugar coat poop and make it smell nice. IMHO, there is nothing positive about a bunch of people threatening to riot just because they might disagree with possible outcomes. That's tantamount to a baby throwing a fit because they don't get to have their way. |
