They hand the election over to the very candidate who stands against their values. Ummm...Romney is against my values too. So I would have voted for Paul, but instead I should vote for someone against my values? No thanks...I really actually do have values and Romney does not represent them and Paul does so when I voted for Paul at the precinct, the county convention and the state convention and said please do not pick Romney I can not support him. Please pick Paul or a real conservative I can support you said no it will be Romney. So, it was you who lost the election and reelected Obama. QUIT BLAMING US. |

The energy they brought two years ago to that election brought many wins. But the republicans really messed up in dealing with the libertarian republicans and they left the tent of republicans. This cost the election for Romney..this and woman. |

Quoting: CrazyEyesThreadKilla Then, the Tea Party rose, driven by the libertarian wing. Instead of embracing it, you co-opted it, driving away its passionate founding population and replacing it with traditional Republican voters. You still had enough momentum to do well in the mid-terms, so instead of learning what drives the passion of the libertarian wing, you kicked it right in the ass. Then, as the 2012 race began, you noticed a libertarian, Ron Paul wing enflamed with passion. Despite its past mistreatment, those voters loyally followed RP under the (R) banner. Rather than learning and embracing these voters, you sent out your pack of howling pundits to ridicule and misrepresent his policies. You treated the only innovative and original voice in the presidential pack as an annoyance. Then, you had an unhappy populace looking for a reason to get excited, and you gave them warmed-over Reagan-lite served without an ounce of passion. You continued to throw the occasional bone to RP voters, treating them like just another of your dumbass interest groups that will happily sit up for a plate of meager promises. Then, you were dealt the most favorable hand imaginable in 2012- shitty economy, leftist policies, and you still fucked it up. An election that should have been a triumph is a disaster. And the missing ingredient for your party's moment of triumph? All those libertarians you treated like so much dogshit for the last two years. We walked away, and as much as we loathe Obama's policies, as least with the Democratic party, our enemies attack from the front rather than stabbing us in the back. The Republican party of the last three decades is dead. You can continue stumbling on, zombified, as our country drowns under a slow drip of socialism, or you can WAKE THE FUCK UP, and give the libertarians a chance in the driver's seat. You are correct. That's what you get when you nominate a softcore socialist and political weather vane. Here's a small consolation: when the economy implodes during the next four years and unemployment is at 30 percent, socialism will get the blame. If Romney had won, the economy would have still suffered and "capitalism" would have been blamed. Small consolation, I know. |

He would have pulled most all the Republican vote, the Independent vote and would have pulled way more of the Democratic vote away then Romney did. Of course the Republican party would rather back a corporate whore like Romney and when they did they lost to Obama. The day they gave the nomination to Romney is was all over! |

But TPTB sees him as a game changer so they sabotaged his campaign. They knew Obama would win a 2nd term by selecting Mitt as his opponent. See it for what it is. And no, I didn't hand the election to Obama as 75% of my state voted for him. Besides, had Gary Johnson not been on the ballot, I wouldn't have voted for Mitt Robme anyway. I don't know why the Mitt Robme supporters are so upset that Obama won. Obamney is for gun control, they're both owned by Wall Street, they both like war, they both support the Patriot Act, they both support the NDAA, they both like Social Security, they both want "cyber security" legislation passed (this will stifle freedom of speech and expression on the internet) and Obamney will also continue the war on drugs. Robme voters got exactly what they wanted, four more years of evil and the perpetuation of the status quo. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 24433009 United States 11/07/2012 12:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | these sheep just don't get it. They actually think these two are significantly different and not two sides of the same coin. They think we should pick the lessor of two evils. Maybe if a third party came along to consistently steal elections from the republicans long enough they'd actually change... probably not since they are controlled as one entity basically so it doesn't matter who wins. (on the federal level) What we need is a party that will support the following: End the drug war, decriminalize ALL drugs eventually. Seal up the mexican border. After sealing up the border, round up all illegals and give them a citizenship test. Pass, you get amnesty. Fail, you're out. Support a universal health care system, and regulate the cost of prescription drugs along with their frequency of being perscriped. Have a system in place to prevent people from going to the doctor over sniffles, say a fixed fee of $100 each visit. Overhaul the tax code. Graduated tax rates that are reasonable, with no loopholes and writeoffs. Find a way to make social security solvent and not a ponzi scheme. Thin out government bloat to the extreme, cut down costs and reform the way we budget costs to prevent needless spending. Give government employees bonuses if they find ways to SAVE money. Reasonable regulation of corporations and the environment. I believe we do a pretty good job on this front already. Corporations run amok are just as bad as a government run amok. Of course, gun freedom for all. This should have been higher on the list. An armed society deters criminals. Castle doctrine laws do more good than harm. Lower the drinking age to 18, or even 16. If you can fight and die for your country, you should be able to drink. People will be more mature about drinking and their new found drug freedom if they can do it early on, and get educated by their parents instead of having it be 'taboo' Adopt a strong defensive military, but stop meddling in foreign affairs. Close overseas military bases, focus on developing a strong, broad array of defensive weapons such as jets, aircraft carriers, etc but within our borders. Leave other nations alone. The federal reserve... I'm not sure what to do about that. Any change in our monetary system to a social credit based system where the interest goes right back to the government would cause immediate economic depression. We would recover eventually, but it would cause pain. I'll just leave this fractional reserve central banking topic as open to suggestion.... Let me know what I'm missing.... it's not republican or democrat, it's a mixture of common sense things that I WOULD VOTE FOR. |
