Dear Republican Party, this is what happens when you treat your Ron Paul supporters like shit | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 17851333 United States 11/07/2012 12:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You didn't learn in 2008. Quoting: CrazyEyesThreadKilla Then, the Tea Party rose, driven by the libertarian wing. Instead of embracing it, you co-opted it, driving away its passionate founding population and replacing it with traditional Republican voters. You still had enough momentum to do well in the mid-terms, so instead of learning what drives the passion of the libertarian wing, you kicked it right in the ass. Then, as the 2012 race began, you noticed a libertarian, Ron Paul wing enflamed with passion. Despite its past mistreatment, those voters loyally followed RP under the (R) banner. Rather than learning and embracing these voters, you sent out your pack of howling pundits to ridicule and misrepresent his policies. You treated the only innovative and original voice in the presidential pack as an annoyance. Then, you had an unhappy populace looking for a reason to get excited, and you gave them warmed-over Reagan-lite served without an ounce of passion. You continued to throw the occasional bone to RP voters, treating them like just another of your dumbass interest groups that will happily sit up for a plate of meager promises. Then, you were dealt the most favorable hand imaginable in 2012- shitty economy, leftist policies, and you still fucked it up. An election that should have been a triumph is a disaster. And the missing ingredient for your party's moment of triumph? All those libertarians you treated like so much dogshit for the last two years. We walked away, and as much as we loathe Obama's policies, as least with the Democratic party, our enemies attack from the front rather than stabbing us in the back. The Republican party of the last three decades is dead. You can continue stumbling on, zombified, as our country drowns under a slow drip of socialism, or you can WAKE THE FUCK UP, and give the libertarians a chance in the driver's seat. Well you had your say. You made your point. I hope you get what you want.. Remember we all sink or swim together. You didn't just teach us a lesson, you taught yourself one as well. You are on the same boat.....just remember that. LOL! You are fucking hilarious! Do you actually see a difference in Obama and Romney, other than skin color? If so, please point it out because to me, any mother fucker that supports the Patriot Act and the NDAA is NOT ELECTABLE and both of those son of a bitches support killing you without so much as a trial. |

I can't wait until I'm old and the fucking STATE (elitist bureaucrats) decide whether I live or die. Not to mention a totalitarian, centralized government. I have friends who are so-called 'Libertarians'. No more. They are nothing more than Trojan Horses. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21277120 Do you really think it was going to change with a Romney presidency? The movement to totalitarianism was just as pronounced under Bush as it is under Obama. They are two sides of the same coin. As least this way, when the final collapse comes, the morons can't blame it on conservative policies. I was going to vote for Obama if they didn't put up Ron Paul. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20260218 As it was, I voted for Johnson. It was not a vote stolen from anyone because Romney never had my vote anyway. For some reason Republicans think that ALL Ron Paul supporters WOULD have voted for Romney IF ONLY they'd fell in line. A LOT of us were never in that crazy line anyway. Agreed. |

But, I am relieved that Romney didn't get in. I felt war was IMMINENT with Iran if he got/gets (anyone know for sure yet?) into office. I feel we have more time with Obama, his is a slow descent into poverty for all, compared to what war would do to us, on our soil. Fuck. What a mess. |

No. You had your chance with a Champion of Liberty, you shot him down and mocked him, you knew best and told us who we had to choose. We said no. You got what you deserved. Ron Paul was your last chance. You blew it. You mocked us. Now the people who Love Liberty mock you. attribution unknown but my sentiments exactly |

JadeDone User ID: 2546215 United States 11/07/2012 01:48 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I agree with you 100% OP. I fought hard for Ron Paul and was a delegate for him to my state convention. It was dumbfounding to read the party platform and watch the Republicans belittle him when he was more Republican than the candidates the party was dishing out. The disrespect they showed us was disgusting. They could have had our energy, our enthusiasm and our organization but they blew it. Though he was not my candidate, I cast my vote for Romney in the end. I know that many of the people I worked with during Dr. Paul's campaign went another direction. I don't blame them a bit. I still have hope for our country though. We were successful in securing a large portion of our precinct officer positions and our party control at the local level will grow more in 2 years. I am told this happened all over the country. We are going to turn the party away from assbackwards social issues and point toward fiscal responsiblity and limited government. We are seeking out liberty minded candidates to support at the local level and those people will start winning and gradually move up to the higher elected offices. I hope the country has time. |
