It's simple enough: the average voter does not like being cheated and disrespected by someone like Romney who inherited his money and is as out of touch with ordinary people as a eunuch in a harem.
Take the "47%" speech. Most of the people for whom he expressed contempt are old age pensioners. They vote! They didn't vote for a crook who promised to cheat them.
It's predictable the repubes will through the sort of tantrums and riots that they said Dems. would do. They too are out of touch with reality and ordinary Americans.
