Surely the major mistake was the choice of republican candidate. I suspect a large portion of the people voted for Obama because they simply didn't like the other choice and better the devil you know..
Last time round you had a rapidly ageing guy with an almost beyond stupid backup.
If the GOP picked a normal candidate with some good general knowledge etc they would of won.
