The national debt stands at about $16 trillion. As was stated above, $5.3 trillion has been added during Obama's term. How is it mathematically possible for Obama to have "added more debt in his first term than all 43 previous Presidents [including Dubya] combined." Not to mention the fact that much of the debt during his entire term comes from the structural deficit in the budget, as a result of the Bush tax cuts (which I admit Obama agreed to extend)and the fact that Obama and the Democrats insisted that the costs for the wars (one of which he has ended) which the previous Republican Congress and "Dubya" refused to include in the budget so that the deficits of their years wouldn't look as bad. If you listened to Obama tonight, he made clear that he would attach the deficit. You may well see something by the end of the week. oh is he going to wipe it clean and restart it? his banker/corp friends won't like that heh |
